West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee is facing criticism from Leader of Opposition in the West Bengal Assembly Subhendu Adhikari for blaming the Border Security Force (BSF) regarding infiltration in the state. Subhendu Adhikari accused Mamata Banerjee of playing “low-level politics” by blaming BSF for the infiltration and said that security forces serve the nation and not the government.
Shubhendu Adhikari’s letter on Mamata Banerjee’s comment
In his letter, Subhendu Adhikari wrote, “Security forces serve the nation and not the government. They protect the country. The way you have held our soldiers responsible for the infiltration taking place in West Bengal shows that you What low level politics they are doing.” On Thursday, Mamata Banerjee had alleged that the Border Security Force was helping terrorists and infiltrators from Bangladesh to enter the state and was causing disruption.
Shubhendu called it an insult to the security forces
In his letter, Subhendu Adhikari has termed this comment of the Chief Minister as an insult to the security forces. He wrote, allegations and counter-allegations are often made in politics but dragging the security forces into this, insulting them and holding them responsible for one’s failure is bad politics. “This is an insult to the 75,000 personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces, 33,000 personnel of the BSF in Bengal and all the soldiers of the country.”

Shubhendu said that infiltrators take advantage of geographical conditions
He said that due to adverse geographical conditions, a large part of the country’s border is open. Asked this question to the Chief Minister
He asked the Chief Minister, “When these infiltrators come to the village, why do the Patwaris make their identity cards? How do they get their ration cards made? How do the police and other officials verify them as genuine citizens and how do their identity cards get verified?” Is it possible to release it?” Along with this, he also accused the West Bengal government of not cooperating with BSF on border related issues.
