Last year, in the BRICS summit held in Kazan, Russia, Russian President Vladimir Putin had insisted on trade in their respective currencies from the member countries of the organization. This was seen as the first step towards BRICS creating its own currency. Whereas at present the US dollar is considered the intermediate currency all over the world. From the year 2023 itself, it is expected that BRICS will emphasize on the use of its own currency as an alternative to the US dollar. Trump has also taken this news seriously. He has threatened to impose 100 percent tariff on the countries included in BRICS. Apart from Russia, India and China are also members of BRICS. India and China are two rapidly growing economies in the world.
