Quad is a strategic alliance. Its main objective is to promote free, inclusive and rules-based system in the Indo-Pacific region. It works in a way to control China. The organization had become inactive since its inception, but Donald Trump re -activated it in 2017 after becoming President. Trump is also showing activeness about the quad in his second term. Darus Quad is a way to balance China with aggressive policies on the South China Sea and India-China border. Being a member of this, India gets the benefit of defense and maritime security. In recent times, India has increased its role in the Indo-Pacific region. India’s interest in BRICS

BRICS are an organization of fast developing economies. It has 40 percent of the world’s population in its member countries. The share of these countries in the global economy is about one third. The purpose of the bricks is to increase cooperation among emerging economies. India wants to diversify its economy by strengthening business relations with BRICS countries. Countries involved in BRICS are trying to reduce dependence on dollars-based global finance systems in local currencies. This is bothering Trump.
