Raj Kundra and Shilpa Shetty
The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Friday raided Raj Kundra’s properties in the Bitcoin Ponzi scam. This ED raid started at 6 am on Friday morning and continued for several hours. Now Raj Kundra’s first statement after this raid has come out. Raj Kundra’s lawyer has also opposed this case on Friday itself. Now Raj Kundra has made a post regarding this. In which Raj Kundra has said that his wife Shilpa Shetty’s name should not be dragged into this matter. Late on Friday night, Raj wrote a note on his Instagram Stories and clarified that he is cooperating with the investigating agencies. He also urged everyone not to drag his wife Shilpa Shetty’s name into this matter.
Raj Kundra gave clarification in the post
Raj Kundra wrote in his Instagram post, ‘Who can this be a matter of concern, there is a lot of drama in the media. But there are some facts which we should know. I have been fully following the ongoing investigation for the last four years. As far as the claims of ‘collaboration’, ‘obscene’ and ‘money laundering’ are concerned, let us believe that no amount of sensationalism can cloud the truth, justice will ultimately prevail.’ Earlier on Friday afternoon, Shilpa Shetty’s lawyer Advocate Prashant Patil had also issued a statement denying the reports linking her to the investigation.
The arrest took place in 2021
Raj Kundra has also been arrested in the same case in 2021. This whole matter is related to a Bitcoin Ponzi scheme scam. It was started in the year 2018. ED had received a case of investigation against a company named Gain Bitcoin. Many people had accused the company of fraud. This company lured people with heavy returns and made them invest money. After this people were cheated. ED investigated the case and arrested several people including its mastermind Amit Bhardwaj. During investigation, record of sending 285 bitcoins to Raj Kundra from Amit Bhardwaj’s account was also found. Whose value is said to be around Rs 150 crore. Now ED is investigating this matter.
Who is Raj Kundra?
Raj Kundra is a British businessman of Indian origin. Raj Kundra lived in London and did business from there. Raj Kundra was married to Kavita, the daughter of a British businessman, in 2003. Both of them also have a daughter ‘Delina’. But Raj Kundra and Kavita’s marriage lasted only for 2 years and they got divorced in 2006. Raj Kundra’s daughter was 3 months old at the time of divorce. After this Raj Kundra met Shilpa Shetty. Shilpa Shetty had gone to London to promote a perfume brand S2. It was here that he met Raj Kundra. From here both of them became friends and fell in love. On 22 November 2009, Shilpa married Raj Kundra.
