In a few days we are going to enter 2025. Times are changing rapidly and now is the time when women’s share in jobs has also increased. Along with this, their stress also. Because working women are taking care of household responsibilities along with office. In such a situation, stress management is a big challenge for them.

It was found that women doing household work were victims of more stress than men working outside. 1985 passed. After almost 40 years, we are now knocking in 2025. Stress in women is a reaction to the events happening in your daily life. Sometimes stress can also be positive, with the help of which you may complete your scheduled tasks, but most of the times it harms your mental health. Sometimes stress becomes permanent in your life in such a way that you accept that it is a daily occurrence and then its effect on your mental health starts becoming visible. Many times you are so busy that you do not even have time to think about how stress is affecting your life.

1. Headache

Headache due to stress is very common in women. Headache causes problems like insomnia and fatigue. After some time, the headache may extend to the neck also. And the cause of these pains can be stress.

2. Getting angry

Women become irritable due to stress. Due to which they show symptoms like getting angry on small things and always being dissatisfied with themselves. Stress is the main reason for this. Many times problems like insomnia at night have also been seen due to this reason.

According to Dr. Mukta Aggarwal, Professor at AIIMS Patna, many causes of stress in women are common in men and women. Like – job, career, studies or many more. But when we look at our social structure, it will be seen that women have more reasons for stress than men. This stress is not only limited to office but women have more stress at home than men.

One Study According to the study, the stress level of women is 50 percent more than that of men. Women have work as well as household responsibilities which include the pressure of taking care of parents and children. Many times a situation arises when they have to choose between home and career. Women take such decisions in which someone has to lose, but many times they are not able to easily overcome that guilt. There can be many other personal reasons due to which women are often under stress.

How to Manage Stress

1. Exercise

Whenever we talk about stress management, exercise is least talked about. But regular exercise or yoga can help you manage it.

Calm music is also very useful for stress. Therefore, include exercise, yoga and meditation regularly in your daily routine.

2. Share your Problems

You can be stress free only when you share your thoughts. It is true that sometimes due to stress we do not want to talk to anyone, but this is not the solution. This will further increase your stress. Expressing your problems can further reduce your stress.

3. Do your favorite work

During times of stress, you should do things that satisfy you. You may like writing, reading books, cooking or whatever. On such occasions when you are surrounded by stress, do things that make you happy, by doing this you can be successful in getting relief from stress.

4. Remain in Touch with your Friends

Mental problems are something that cuts you off from the whole world. In such a situation, you do not want to talk even to your good friends. But this is not the solution to stress. Talking or meeting your loved ones helps you stay away from stress.

When to see a doctor

1. If you have been feeling stressed continuously for a month or more, then it is important to visit a doctor once. This could be a sign of some mental illness.
2. If you are facing problems like constant headache, chest pain, insomnia due to stress, then it is important to visit a doctor.
3. If you are constantly struggling with irritability and anger due to stress, then definitely consult a doctor because sometimes this situation becomes so severe that even thoughts of suicide start coming in your mind.
4. Many times people resort to things like alcohol to reduce stress or to forget stress. If you also have to do this continuously then you need a doctor.
4. If you are feeling frequent anxiety, panic attacks or depression, then consult a doctor immediately.

Stress is certainly common in today’s lifestyle, but stress as a problem is not common. Ignoring it means inviting a lot of problems. If home remedies are not reducing or eliminating your stress, then you need to consult a doctor immediately. There is no need to run away from stress nor to hide it, but there is a need to recognize it and fight it.
