A major railway accident in Khandwa was averted, when the double decker goods train started running on the wrong route. The incident occurred on Sunday, when the goods train reached Khandwa via 18 stations on the wrong track from Jalgaon.

On Sunday, the double -decker goods train going from Penukonda in Andhra Pradesh to Farukhnagar in Gurgaon reached about 147 km Khandwa via 18 stations on the wrong track from Jalgaon. The mistake of this mistake was stopped by sticking the roof of the first compartment of the double decker engine from OHE in the station yard here. This caused panic. The 264 SUV car was loaded at around Rs 66 crore in the goods train.
No effect on the movement of trains
The movement of trains was not affected due to the freight train on the track of the goods train yard. TRD team reached the spot

After investigation on Mokay, the decision to send the goods train back was taken back to Bhusaval.

Khandwa railway station manager Arvind Kumar Saha told which route the goods train will go. Its controller and decision is made at a higher level. After discussing the height of the OHE line at Khandwa station, the goods train was sent back from the outer after discussion with senior officials. This did not make any difference to the movement of trains.
