Dr. Arundhati Mukherjee has been awarded the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship Award for 2024. Under this award by the Jawaharlal Nehru Smriti Nidhi (Memorial Fund), Dr. Mukherjee will work on a project titled ‘Technology of Self’ – A Philosophical Clue to Re-humanization.

A release issued by N Balakrishna, Administrative Secretary, Jawaharlal Nehru Memorial Fund, said that the Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship has been announced on the occasion of the 135th birth anniversary of Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru.
According to the release, Dr Arundhati Mukherjee has done her doctorate in philosophy from Jadavpur University and teaches graduate and post graduate students. He has been engaged in teaching for the last 14 years. Dr. Mukherjee has done extensive research in Philosophy of Language and Philosophy of Art and Aesthetics. She has been a Senior Fellow at the Indian Council of Philosophical Research. Dr. Mukherjee has written several books, including ‘The Problem of Linguistic Universals’. Many of his research papers have also been published.
Jawahar Lal Nehru Fellowship is given for two years, under which an honorarium of Rs 1 lakh per month and an annual contingency amount of Rs 75,000 is given. The release said that Jawaharlal Nehru Fund has so far awarded Jawaharlal Nehru Fellowship to 162 candidates.
