The ED took this action in connection with the violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA) guidelines.
The NGO associated with US billionaire George Soros, who called Prime Minister Modi as undemocratic, is raided. EDs of Bangalore -based George Soros Foundation, Open Soros Foundation (OSF) and Amnesty International were raided by ED.
The agency also locked the houses of the Amnesty and the pre-present employees of the Human Rights Watch (HRW). According to reports, the ED was acted with violation of the Foreign Exchange Management Act (FEMA). Official information has not been given by the OSF on the raid.
Amnesty International stopped its activity in India in December 2020 itself. The institution’s bank accounts were also freeze due to allegations of illegal foreign funding.
Amnesty and Human Rights Watch (HRW) are accused of getting funding from Open Soros Foundation (OSF). In this case, CBI has filed a charge sheet against them. Now ED is investigating it.
George Soros has been opposed to Prime Minister Modi

Soros also targeted PM Modi even after the CAA and Article 370 being removed from CAA and Kashmir in India. Soros said on both occasions that India is moving towards becoming a Hindu nation. On both occasions, his statements were very strong.
