New Delhi:
Exit poll predictions for the results of Maharashtra and Jharkhand assembly elections and Uttar Pradesh assembly by-elections have started coming out. These forecasts show a tough contest between the BJP-led NDA and the opposition alliance in Maharashtra and Jharkhand. However, in most of the surveys for Maharashtra, the BJP-led Mahayuti (NDA in Maharashtra) has been shown to have an edge over the Mahavikas Aghadi. NDTV has calculated the average of these predictions (Poll of Exit Poll). According to this, NDA seems to be getting the lead in Maharashtra. There is a close contest between NDA and India alliance in Jharkhand. That means a hung assembly can be formed. BJP is also predicted to get lead in the by-elections held for 9 seats in Uttar Pradesh.
BJP had tried to polarize votes in the assembly elections and by-elections. BJP gave slogans like ‘If you divide, you will be divided’ and ‘If you are united, you will be safe’. Apart from this, she continued to focus most on women voters. Like Madhya Pradesh’s ‘Ladli Brahmin Yojana’, he made pre-poll promises in Jharkhand and Maharashtra also. However, opposition parties also announced women welfare schemes on the lines of BJP. In Jharkhand, BJP had also made the infiltration of Bangladeshis a big election issue. How effective these slogans and promises will be will be known only from the election results, currently its shadow can be seen in the surveys that came after the voting.
There are 288 assembly seats in Maharashtra and 81 seats in Jharkhand. Voting took place on all the seats in Maharashtra today in a single phase. The election process was completed in Jharkhand today with the second phase of voting. The counting of votes will take place on November 23 and the results will be declared along with it.
Majority figure in Maharashtra is 145
To have majority in Maharashtra, any alliance must win at least 145 assembly seats. In some of the exit polls that have come so far, NDA has been shown leading while in some, a close contest has been predicted between the two alliances. If we look at the average of these predictions, NDA may get 153 seats, Mahavikas Aghadi (MVA) may get 126 seats and others may get 9 seats.
According to the exit poll of agency Lokshahi Marathi-Rudra, NDA may get 128 to 142 seats, MVA may get 25 to 140 seats and others may get 18 to 23 seats. People’s Pulse has predicted NDA to get 175 to 195 seats, MVA to get 85 to 112 seats and others to get 7 to 12 seats.
