Washington: The Palisades area, located about 32 kilometers from Los Angeles, has been devastated by the devastating fire. Many famous personalities live in this area. Indian-American Moira Shourie, a Palisades resident currently in Los Angeles, told PTI in an interview, “It is a terrible devastation. There are some small areas where one or two houses are left. Otherwise the entire area has been destroyed.” Due to the fire in this very beautiful area, Shourie has had to leave her house. Shourie and her family have been staying in a hotel in Los Angeles for the last two days.
‘Sparks flying with the wind’
Shourie said, “With the wind, sparks were flying hundreds of meters into the sky and it was very scary, this had never happened before.” I even heard a fire brigade official say that it was like trying to stop a storm. Aircraft are normally used to control such fires, but no aircraft could be deployed there. Humans were the only ones trying to deal with this situation, but they seemed helpless.” She said, ”I can’t even help my friends. All my friends living in the neighborhood have had their houses reduced to ashes or damaged.”

Billionaires Beach destroyed
Many Indian-origin families have lost everything in the worst fire ever to hit the Los Angeles area. Another resident of Indian origin said, “At least there is relief that there was not much loss of life due to people leaving the place on time.” It will take three to five years for these families to recover. He told PTI, “My family and I moved to Redondo Beach last November, so we are not directly affected by this fire. My office was on the Pacific Highway, known as Billionaires Beach. “An entire area of several miles from the beach inland, known as ‘Billionaire’s Beach’, has been destroyed.”
