Exclusive: Pakur, Ramesh Bhagat-A sensational case of fraud has come to light in Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNV) located in Bagshisha village of Hiranpur block. Documents of 10 students have been found fake in the enrollment of class 6 in the school. The matter came to light after the enrollment held in July-August 2024, when preparations were made to send student Anand Kumar home due to his ill health. During investigation of the child’s address, it was found that he did not have any permanent address in Hiranpur block. After this Principal Awadhesh Kumar started examining the documents. In the school where the certificate was given, it was found that no child with that name was ever enrolled. After this revelation, when the documents of other students were scrutinized, it was found that 10 children had taken admission in the school with the help of fake certificates, Aadhar card, caste certificate and resident certificate. Even the signature of the District Education Officer was found to be fake.
From Aadhar Card to SLC also fake, nomination racket game
All the documents required for enrollment like Aadhar Card, School Living Certificate, and signature of the DEO were all found to be fake. On October 22, 2024, the Principal of JNV made a written complaint about this matter to DEO Pakur. After this, on December 19, 2024, DEO Anita Purti formed a team of three BEOs for investigation. Investigation found that the children were never enrolled in the schools in whose name TCs (transfer certificates) were issued. Preparations are being made for further action on the basis of the investigation report. None of the 10 children identified in this case are residents of Pakur district. Investigation has revealed that a racket is active behind this, which takes huge amount of money and prepares government documents fraudulently and enrolls children.
students missing after vacation
When the school management started investigation, this news reached the children and their parents also. The school opened on November 9 after the Durga Puja holiday, but the 10 identified children did not return. Their parents refused to send their children to school for fear of being investigated for fake documents.
Three shocking case studies of fraud
Case Study 01: ‘Unknown Student’ of Hiranpur
A student named Rahul Raj gave the certificate of Upgraded Middle School Daldali of Hiranpur block to get his enrollment done. The surprising thing is that neither Rahul ever studied in this school nor is he a local child. Actually, he is not even a resident of Pakur district. Moreover, the TC certificate number 45/2024 presented by it is completely doubtful because this school had started issuing TC certificates from number 63/2024.
Case Study 02: ‘Missing students’ in Ampada
Sarang Munda got his nomination done on the basis of the certificate of middle school Kolkhipada of Amdapara block. But a big question arose when it came to light that Sarang never studied in this school. Not only this, neither any student of this name was found in the school records nor did the school ever issue TC to any student of this name. This is clearly a fraud.
Case Study 03: Enrollment Number Hoax
The third incident is of primary school Koltola of Amdapara block, where Ashish Kumar and Lakshmi Kumari were enrolled with the help of fake documents. Ashish presented certificate of admission number 23/2019 and Lakshmi presented certificate of admission number 17/2019. But the reality is that there were only 13 enrollments in total in this school. This means, their papers were fake and need to be investigated in depth.
Action will be taken after receiving investigation report-DEO
DEO Anita Purti said that investigation has been conducted on the letter received from GNV Bagshisha. After receiving the investigation report, further action is being taken.
Disciplinary action after receiving DEO’s letter-Principal
Principal of JNV Bagshisha, Awadhesh Kumar said that there was suspicion of providing fake documents in the enrollment of some children in JNV. When an investigation was conducted at the school level, it was found that the documents of a total of 10 students were suspicious. Letter has been given to DEO. After receiving their letter, disciplinary action will be taken against all the 10 students and CBSE will be informed.
