Taking a major action, the Punjab Police made Shambhu and Khanouri border evacuated from the farmers. The police got the farmers rammed by running a bulldozer on the sit -in site and temporary constructions. The police have detained about two hundred farmers. These include Saravan Singh Pandher of Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and Jagjit Singh Dallewal of United Kisan Morcha (Non political). Farmers have been enraged by the removal of farmers’ movement from Shambhu and Khanouri border. The Kisan Mazdoor Morcha and the United Kisan Morcha (non -political) appealed to the farmers to perform at the office of the District Deputy Commissioners on Thursday. Police and farmers came face to face
The police have placed the detained farmer leader Jagjit Dallewal in the guest house of the Public Works Department of Jalandhar Cantt, the army controlled in Punjab. At the same time, some farmer leaders reached to meet him, the police also took him into custody. Earlier, when Dallawal was taken into custody on Wednesday afternoon, he was taken to a hospital. Janawuk Kisan Morcha (Non-Political) and Kisan Mazdoor Morcha announced a sit-in outside the offices of Deputy Commissioners on Thursday to protest against the action of Punjab Police. Both farmer organizations who led the farmers’ agitation on Shambhu and Khanouri border criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) government of Punjab for removing the protesters and taking the farmer leaders into custody.

In Giddarbaha there, farmers tried to know the Bathinda-Ganganagar highway but the police did not let it succeed. The police also used mild force to disperse the farmers. Some protesting farmers have also been detained in Faridkot. Farmers associated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union (Ugrahan) took out the dead body of Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann’s effigy in Barnala this afternoon.

Punjab and Haryana police are vacating border
Police is taking help of JCB and other machines to remove concrete from Shambhu-Ambala and Sangrur-Jind Marg on Shambhu and Khanouri border. Both these routes have been closed for more than a year due to the farmers’ movement. Haryana security officials installed inhibitors with the help of cement blocks, iron nails and barbed wires on the state border with Punjab. They wanted to stop the farmers who traveled to the capital from moving towards the capital. The Punjab Police also resumed the campaign to remove the remaining temporary structures located towards Punjab on the Shambhu and Khanouri border to evacuate the route. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Nanak Singh of Pathiala said that all trolley and institute structures would be removed from the road on Shambhu border.
