Bhojpur: Taking a new initiative in the field of milk production and dairy products, Ashish Dairy has been launched in Bhojpur district of Bihar. The objective of this startup is not only to manufacture high quality dairy products but also to provide employment opportunities to the farmers and local people of Diara region.
Ashish Dairy’s plant has been established in Sivanchak village near Babura village. This dairy plant, built at a cost of Rs 75 lakh, will directly benefit about 100 cattle farmers and more than 100 local people of 20-25 villages of the area.
Claiming quality products and better prices
Ashish Dairy will manufacture products like milk, cream, butter, curd and lassi. The operator of the dairy claims that the products here will be better in quality than the big companies already present in the market.
With the aim of providing more benefits to local farmers, Ashish Dairy will purchase milk at a higher price from other dairy companies. While big companies buy milk from farmers at Rs 31 per liter, Ashish Dairy will buy milk at a minimum of Rs 32 per liter. Along with this, the prices of dairy products will be kept lower than other companies, so that customers can get better quality and affordable options.
Role of middlemen ended, promise of employment
The main objective of setting up the dairy plant in Diara area is to free the local farmers and cattle rearers from middlemen. Vinod Singh, founder of Ashish Dairy, said, earlier the farmers of Diara area used to sell milk to big companies through middlemen, due to which the farmers were not able to get full profit from their produce. Now, by setting up the plant directly in Diara area, we have tried to completely remove the middlemen. Farmers will now directly connect with dairy plants and get better income.
New system to connect farmers
To connect farmers with dairy plants, a center and a committee will be formed in every panchayat.
– Farmers will be included in the committee and a form will be filled.
– Farmers will deposit their milk at the center of every village.
– The vehicle of the dairy plant will pick up milk directly from the village center and deliver it to the plant.
This system will directly benefit the farmers and the accounts will also remain transparent.
Steps towards local development
The objective of Ashish Dairy is not only to compete in the field of dairy products but also to provide employment to the local people and make the farmers self-reliant. This initiative can prove to be important in giving Bhojpur district a new identity in the field of dairy products.
