Kumbh mela 2025: The Mahakumbh Mela is now slowly moving towards its conclusion. Railways have made special arrangements in view of the possibility of increasing crowd in the last week of the fair. In view of the possibility of increasing number of pilgrims, ‘holding areas’ have been created at various railway stations. The ministry gave this information on Thursday. Railways have built these ‘holding areas’ (place for passengers stay) at various stations at various stations, when 18 people died due to stampede at New Delhi railway station on 15 February.

‘Holding area’ made at stations

The Ministry of Railways has issued a statement requesting passengers to follow the official guidelines to cooperate and ensure smooth and safe travel. The ministry said that the Railways has set up ‘holding areas’ at various stations of Northern Railway, North Central Railway, North Eastern Railway and East Central Railway. These ‘holding areas’ are installed outside the platform, which will help passengers control and prevent congestion.

The ministry said, “Passengers will be allowed to enter the platform at the time of the scheduled departure of their train. The initiative aims to improve mob management and increase passengers’ safety. ”It said that Northern Railway has created a large scale ‘holding area’ in Ghaziabad, Anand Vihar, New Delhi, Ayodhya Dham and Banaras. The Northeast Railway has also created ‘holding areas’ in Banaras, Siwan, Ballia, Deoria, Chhapra and Gorakhpur.

More than 55 crore devotees have taken bath

So far, more than 55 crore devotees have taken a dip in the Triveni Sangam in Mahakumbh, which started from January 13 in Prayagraj. According to a statement issued by the state government, more than 55 crore devotees are the biggest participation in human history in any religious, cultural or social event. This Mahakumbh Mela will run till 26 February (Mahashivratri).

Data expected to exceed 60 crores

An official statement said that half of India’s 110 million Sanatan followers have taken a dip and the number is expected to exceed 60 crores till the last bathing ritual on 26 February. It states that according to Pew Research 2024, estimated 120 million people worldwide believe in Sanatan Dharma, which means that more than 45 percent of Sanatanis around the world have taken a dip in the confluence. According to the statement, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath had expressed the possibility of 45 crore devotees coming to Mahakumbh. While by 14 February, the number exceeded 50 crores and reached 55 crores on 17 February. It is expected that this number of devotees taking bath can go up to 60 crores. (input language)
