The wait for Apple’s foldable iPhone and iPad is about to end soon. The company is preparing for their mass production. According to the recent report, Apple’s foldable device can be made in the second half of 2026. The prototype of both these foldable devices can be introduced next month. After the completion of testing of prototypes, the American tech company will send it to mass production.
At this time, Samsung’s foldable smartphone is dominated all over the world. The South Korean brand has more than half of the Global foldable smartphone’s cell. At the same time, Chinese companies Huawei, Oppo, Xiaomi and Motorola have also strengthened their foldable segment in the past. According to Macrumrs report, Mass production of Apple’s foldable iPhone and foldable iPad can be launched in the second half of next year. Industry analyst Jeff PU has claimed that Apple will initially start production of two foldable devices. These may have an iPhone and an iPad. They have been recently introduced in Foxconn’s New Products Intarch (NPI) phase.
What is NPI Phase?
To manufacture any smartphone, one has to go through a variety of critical process. They contain many types of stage. New product phase is the earliest phase, in which the prototype of concept is prepared. After this, many types of testing are done and then mass production starts. Mass production is the last phase, after which the product is ready to enter the commercial market. Prototype of product will be prepared in new product phase. After this, a market ready product is prepared by making a lot of changes in fine tuning and design.
What will be features?
According to PU, these foldable devices of Apple will reach the prototype stage next month i.e. in April. After this, the working model of Apple’s foldable smartphone will be ready. According to the report, Apple may launch its foldable device in early 2027. A 7.8 -inch foldable display can be found in the foldable iPhone. At the same time, its cover display can be 5.5 inches. It can be introduced with a book style design like Galaxy Z Fold. It can get features like side mounted touch ID, face unlock. At the same time, a large 18.8 -inch OLED screen can be given in the foldable iPad. This pad can be used in both tablets and laptops.
