Complain on WhatsApp
If there is a possibility of adulteration of any food item, you can complain on WhatsApp on 9406764084. Apart from this, if you do not want to disclose your name and mobile number then you can complain on the website.
Your complaint is processed without revealing your identity. Complaints can also be made on the Food Connect app. Like we eat and smell sweets before buying them. You can complain if any fault occurs, action will be taken by the department.
A food van operating in the city
If you want to get any food item tested yourself, a food van of the Food Department is being operated for this. This van goes to different areas on different days. You can also get tested by taking advantage of the facility of this van.
Must check expiry date
This investigation is done at a nominal fee. Under the Consumer Protection Act, if adulteration is found in an open packet, you can complain. Many people do not complain. While buying packaged food, one should always check its expiry date.
Even if there are holes in the packet, it should not be taken. Also check whether it is FSSAI approved or not. Whether the license number is written on it or not.
This is how to identify adulteration in tea leaves
There may be a possibility of adding fine iron powder to the tea leaves. For this you place a magnet on it. If it is sticking then it will be adulterated. At the same time, to identify chilli powder, take half a glass of water and add some chilli powder in it.
If it is pure it will go to the bottom. If it is impure, it will come to the surface and the color of the water will turn red. Keep coconut oil in the freezer. If it solidifies then it is pure and if it does not solidify then it is adulterated.

Through the Food Connect app, you can directly send your complaint to the Food Safety and Standards Authority against people adulterating food items. FSSAI will also give you continuous updates about your complaint.
