For the last days of Mahakumbh, the railway tightened up, 15 special trains will run in a day when needed.

The news is from Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh. Railways have planned to take devotees from Jabalpur and nearby to Prayagraj Mahakumbh. It is believed that there may be a huge crowd in Kumbh due to Saturday and Sunday, seeing Ekadashi and Mahashivaratri.

New Duniya Representative, Jabalpur: The number of devotees visiting Prayagraj on weekend and special dates during Mahakumbh increases considerably. In view of this, new preparations have been made by the Jabalpur Railway Division.

More than 15 unreserved train racks have been reserved to control the rush of passengers. Out of this, six seven racks have been placed on alert mode to run at any time. At the same time, it is planned to run 15 special unreserved trains a day if the number of devotees for Prayagraj is high.

Additional employees will be posted till 28 February

  • Additional deployment of employees to be done in the weekend for smooth operation of station and railway operations has now been permanent till February 28.
  • During this period, contingency officers and staff teams have been formed for the three railway stations, which will be taken in service immediately as per the requirement.

Estimates of increasing crowd before Mahashivratri

Mahakumbh is ending this month. There is a festival bath on Mahashivaratri. Railway administration estimates that the number of railway passengers may increase before the end of Mahakumbh. A large number of devotees reach the railway station from the surrounding districts together.

In such a situation, preparations have been made to run a special train for Prayagraj immediately from Katni and Satna along with Jabalpur to keep the crowd under control. If more than two thousand passengers gather to go to Prayagraj, a special train will be sent immediately.

Coordination team constituted at district level

In order to keep the operation of the train smooth, the Railway Administration has formed a coordination team with administrative officials at the district level. The district administration officials and police teams will also be active immediately if the crowd is high in the station. From the journey of devotees to their stay, catering, treatment and other facilities will be made available.

Discussion of railway officials with Chief Secretary and DGP

On Tuesday, the Chief Secretary, DGP, the Chief Secretary, DGP conducted a video conferencing with the railway officials regarding the smooth arrangement of the movement of devotees during the remaining days of Mahakumbh.
