India is celebrating its 76th Republic Day (Republic Day 2025) today. President Draupadi Murmu hoisted the tricolor on the duty path on the occasion. India showed its strength to the world with the path of duty. This year the main theme of the ceremony was the 75th anniversary of the Constitution, the theme of tableaux was ‘Golden India: Heritage and Development’. Today, 16 tableaux of various states and union territories and 15 tableaux of central ministries, departments and organizations were displayed in the parade.

Indonesia’s marching squad also participated
The 190 -member band of Indonesian Military Academy, Genderrang Sulling Kanka Lokananta and 152 personnel of all branches of Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI) marched on the duty path on the 76th Republic Day.

On Sunday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi wore a dark brown neck coat and red-yellow safa with white kurta-pajama on the 76th Republic Day and continued his tradition of wearing bright and colorful safa on specific occasions. Earlier, Prime Minister Modi wore a multicolored ‘Bandhani’ print safa on the occasion of 75th Republic Day.

Bandhani is a type of tie-dai cloth which is popular in Gujarat and Rajasthan. This is a method in which the cloth is tied and dyed by applying lumps. Georgette, Shifan, silk and cotton cloth are tied tightly with a thread before inserting it into a colored pool and when this thread is opened, the tied part becomes colorful. The design is then designed using thread on the cloth by hand.

Prabovo Subianto is the chief guest
Indonesia President Prabovo Subianto is the chief guest on the occasion. A marching squad and a band from the band will also participate in the parade. Subiayanto will be the fourth President of Indonesia to participate in the Republic Day celebrations. Indonesia’s first President Sukarno was the chief guest at India’s first Republic Day celebrations in 1950.

More than 70 companies of paramilitary forces and more than 70,000 policemen have been deployed across the city. Delhi Police issued traffic advisory
According to the traffic advisory of Delhi Police on the occasion of Republic Day, diversion is applicable on the roads leading from the parade route (which extends from Vijay Chowk to Red Fort). Especially the C-hexagon area has been closed since 9:15 pm on Saturday night. The Republic Day parade will begin on January 26 at 10:30 am. The parade will pass through Vijay Chowk, Kartavya Path, C-Hexagon, Tilak Road and Bahadur Shah Zafar Road, which will end at the Red Fort.
