game changer movie review: Pan India films have become a topic of discussion these days. The box office earnings of the Pan India film Pushpa 2, released last year, have not stopped yet and in the beginning of this new year, another Pan India film game changer has knocked. The budget of the film is said to be Rs 450 crore. The director of the film is Shankar and the face of the film is global star Ram Charan. That too in a double role, who has returned to the silver screen after the film RRR, but all these aspects together have not been able to make Game Changer an entertaining experience because the story and screenplay are very weak and the outdated treatment on top of that has spoiled the experience of the film. Has been made cumbersome.
The story reminds of films like Nayak and Shivaji
If we look at the career of director Shankar, the basis of the story of his films has been corruption. Game Changer is also no exception in this case. The story of the film is of Ram Nandan (Ram Charan). He is an IAS officer. If there is a hero in the film, one has to be honest. He wants to make the state corruption free. Meanwhile, he faces competition from Mopidevi (SJ Surya), the son of the state Chief Minister. There is a tussle going on between them when suddenly the CM (Srikanth) dies, but before his death the CM declares Ram Nandan as his successor instead of his sons. What is the reason behind this? Does Ram Nandan’s family have some past? Will he be able to end corruption by sitting on the CM’s chair? Will Mopidevi make Ram’s path easy? The story of the film gives answers to all these questions.
Advantages and disadvantages of the film
If it is a South film, then the hero will definitely become the messiah of the common people. It is here also. He is an IAS and he is eliminating corruption through his power. If the Election Commission wants, it can control the corrupt leaders. This aspect has also found a place in the film. The concept of the film may sound good once, but thousands of films have been made on it. Shankar himself has made many films on corruption in politics. If the subject of the film is old, its treatment seems even more outdated. The first part of this film of two hours and 45 minutes has become very long. Kiara and Ramcharan’s romantic track seems to have the feel of 90s films. Sunil’s comedy also does not appeal. Just before the interval, the film raises hopes, Ram Charan’s character shown in flashback increases the impact of the story, but after half an hour again the story and screenplay fall flat. There was a need to focus on Appanna’s story. If that story had become the basis of the film, the film could have been strengthened, but that story and the characters related to it got more space. The film has remained very weak in terms of editing. While watching the scenes, one feels that it has started suddenly and it has ended suddenly. Talking about the songs and music of the film, it was much discussed. The budget of the songs of the film itself was said to be Rs 45 crore. While watching the film, one feels strongly that these were not needed. Along with increasing the budget of the film, he has worked to increase the length of the film. Not even a single song or the grandeur associated with its shooting has left anything special on the screen. Shankar, who has always done something special in the technical aspect, has done something special in this film. Couldn’t repeat his magic. Actions are routine and dialogues are also not effective.
Ramcharan is solid in double role
Ram Charan is in a double role in the film. He has left a mark in both the roles, but his acting has stood out in the flashback character. SJ Surya has impressed in the role of a corrupt leader, but his Hindi dubbing needed a little more work. Kiara Advani did not have much to do in the film. The second actress of the film, Anjali, has shown her talent in the limited screen space. The rest of the characters are doing well in their respective roles.
