A cabinet meeting of the Yogi Adityanath government of Uttar Pradesh was held in Prayagraj. This meeting was organized in view of the organization of Mahakumbh. Yogi government took many decisions in this. In this, a blueprint for the development of Prayagraj and its surrounding areas was drawn. The UP government decided to form Prayagraj Vindhya region and Varanasi Vidhya region, extend the Ganga Expressway to the border of Madhya Pradesh and also extend the Bundelkhand Expressway to Rewa. Its purpose is to give further impetus to development in Prayagraj and Chitrakoot.
Yogi Adityanath cabinet decisions
CM Yogi Adityanath gave information about the decisions taken in the cabinet. He said that to connect Ganga Expressway to Chitrakoot, Bundelkhand Expressway will be connected to Ganga Expressway. A six-lane bridge is being built on the Ganga river. Another four-lane bridge will be built to connect Prayagraj to Jhusi. Another signature bridge will be built on Yamuna river.”

In fact, the Yogi Adityanath government had also organized a cabinet meeting in the Ardh Kumbh held in Prayagraj in 2019. In this meeting, approval was given for the construction of Ganga Expressway. This expressway will start from Bijauli village of Meerut and go to Judapur Dadu village of Prayagraj. The approximately 594 km long Ganga Expressway is passing through 12 districts of Uttar Pradesh. These districts are Meerut, Hapur, Bulandshahr, Amroha, Sambhal, Badaun, Shahjahanpur, Hardoi, Unnao, Rae Bareli, Pratapgarh and Prayagraj. This expressway is of six lanes. It can be increased to eight lanes. This project is worth more than Rs 50 thousand crores.

Development will gain momentum
Even though the Yogi government has now decided to expand it. But work on its expansion was going on for a long time. The survey work of its extended phase has also been completed. In the second phase, Ganga Expressway from Prayagraj will connect to Purvanchal Expressway in Varanasi, Chandauli and Ghazipur via Mirzapur, Bhadohi. Ganga Expressway from Varanasi and Chandauli will connect Sonbhadra to the National Highway. After the completion of its second phase, it will be more than 900 km long. With the construction of this expressway, a new route will also be available from NCR areas to Bihar. This phase will be known as Prayagraj-Vindhya-Kashi Expressway. Purvanchal Expressway has reached the border of Bihar. With the merger of Purvanchal Expressway and Ganga Expressway, people of Western Uttar Pradesh will get another alternative route to reach Bihar.
Along with this, Yogi Cabinet has announced the plan to connect Ganga Expressway with Bundelkhand Expressway. This will connect Chitrakoot and Prayagraj. With this, road connectivity is going to be better. Bundelkhand Expressway will start from Etawah and reach Chitrakoot via Auraiya, Jalonus, Hamirpur, Mahoba and Banda. It is about 300 km long. Bundelkhand Expressway will go till the border of Madhya Pradesh.
