GBS havoc in Maharashtra: Death of another patient hospitalized, know what are the symptoms of this virus

In Maharashtra Gilian Barre Syndrome (GBS) Is spreading badly. A 53 -year -old patient admitted to Nair Hospital in Mumbai has died due to this syndrome. The patient was a resident of Wadala area and worked as a ward boy at BN Desai Hospital in BMC. According to information received from Nair Hospital, he was ill for a long time and was undergoing treatment. At the same time, a minor girl is also admitted in Nair Hospital, who has been a GBS virus. This girl is a resident of Palghar and is a student of class 10. Earlier on 6 February, a patient died after being hit by GBS syndrome virus.

What are GBS symptoms

  • Symptoms can last for weeks, but most patients are completely cured.
  • However, in some cases there may be long effects.
  • GBS has been confirmed in 167 patients in the state.
  • So far 7 people have died, 1 death has been confirmed by GBS, while 6 deaths are suspicious.

Earlier on January 26, a chartered accountant died of Gulian-Baire syndrome (GBS) disease in Pune, Maharashtra. He lived in DSK Vishwa region. On January 29, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis asked the administration to make special arrangements in government hospitals for the treatment of patients amidst an outbreak of Gilian-Baire syndrome (GBS).

It is noteworthy that earlier on January 27, in view of the increasing cases of GBS in Pune, the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare deployed a seven -member team to support public health intervention and management in the state. The high level team of the Center consisted of multi-disciplinary experts. Its objective is to support state health officials in establishing public health intervention and management in view of GBS suspected and strong cases.
