Goa Villa Booking Fraud: 500 people from across the country cheated in the name of villa booking in Goa, accused arrested in Gwalior

A big case of cheating tourists has come to light in the country. People from different states were cheated in the name of booking villas in Goa. One accused has been caught from Gwalior, while the search for some others is going on. These accused are said to be residents of Hyderabad and Jaipur.

Naiduniya, Gwalior. A case of cheating about 500 tourists from across the country by committing fraud in the name of villa booking in Goa has come to light. A member of the fraud gang, a resident of Gwalior, was caught from DD Nagar area of ​​Gwalior on Monday in a joint action by Goa and Gwalior Police.

The Goa Police team has left with this accused. These people had posted photos of different villas on big websites like Booking.com. Advance money was collected from the tourists in the name of their booking. When tourists reached the spot, nothing was found here.

This is how the fraud was revealed

  • This fraud has been exposed after the complaint of a tourist from Chandigarh. There are three more accused in this case, who are residents of Hyderabad and Jaipur. Now the police has started searching for them.
  • Pankaj Dhiman, a resident of Chandigarh, had to go to Goa. He booked a villa online in Goa. Paid Rs 20 thousand online for booking. When he reached that address with his family, nothing was found there.
  • Then it was found out that he had been cheated. He reached Anjuna police station and complained. One of the accused was identified as Devesh Parihar, aged 30 years, resident of Tikaram Chakki, Nimbaji Ki Khoh, Gwalior.
  • In search of this accused, the team of Anjuna Police Station of Goa reached Gwalior. SP Dharamveer Singh sent the Crime Branch team along with the Goa Police team. Devesh Parihar was caught from DD Nagar in the evening.

After investing some money, they were given the task of giving likes, comments and ratings to the posts. Some money was sent to his account. So that he can believe. After this he was lured with the promise of investment and huge profits in different schemes. In this way around Rs 21 lakh were deposited.

The swindlers even prepared a dummy pay-wallet, in which the amount appeared to be almost double. When he tried to transfer the money to the account, it did not happen. When I spoke to the call centre, I was told that half the money would have to be deposited as tax, only then the entire money would be released.

The youth has complained to the cyber crime wing. The name of the young man is Ashish Kumar. He works in a private company. Some time ago his eyes fell on a post on social media. Here he was lured to earn lakhs of rupees through part time job. After this he kept getting stuck.

Deposit some money first. After this, about Rs 21 lakh was deposited in the name of different schemes. Then he realized that he had been cheated.
