When you go on this route, you will first reach Yashwant Nagar village and after crossing it you will reach Golkheda village. This dam is built near this village. The distance of this dam from the city is about 50 km. The distance from Rau intersection to the dam is 39 km. The distance of this dam from AB Road is five km.

If you want to have a tiffin party here then you can enjoy that too but if you wish to have food outside then you can still go here. Although there are many food shops in these villages, but if you want to enjoy dal-baati prepared by the villagers, then you can also request for it from the villagers.

The most special thing about this place is that one can come here from the beginning of the rainy season till the end of winter. The valleys here are attractive and the water is so clear that hours can be spent gazing at its beauty. Right now there is less tourist traffic at this place, hence it is very peaceful here.

Water here is found in Gambhir River

Actually this Golkheda Dam was not built on any river. During the rainy season, the water flowing from the surrounding hills collects in this pond and when the water level rises, the excess water flows out in the form of a rainy river. The water of this rainy river further meets the Gambhir River.
