Government can bring 16 bills in the budget session: 12 bills including Waqf Amendment brought last year, 4 new bills will come in this session.

The budget session of Parliament is being held in two parts. There will be a total of 27 meetings in 40 days, including both parts.

The budget session of Parliament is starting from Friday. In this session, the government has listed three new bills in addition to the Waqf (Amendment) Bill. The Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC) on the Waqf Bill has submitted its report to speaker Om Birla on Thursday.

A total of 16 bills including budget and Waqf Bill can be processed in this session. Of this, 12 bills have been introduced in the 2024 monsoon and winter session.

At the same time, four new bills including the finance bill of budgetary provisions can be introduced in this session. This includes Protection of Interest in Aircraft Objects, Tribhuvan University Bill and Immigration and Foreigners Bill.

JPC President Jagdambika Pal submitted a report to Speaker Om Birla on Thursday.

Parliament’s budget session will be held in two parts

The budget session of Parliament is being held in two parts. There will be 27 meetings in a total of 40 days, including both parts.

First part: There will be 9 meetings in 14 days from 31 January (Friday) to 13 February (Thursday).

31 January: President Draupadi Murmu will address a joint meeting of both houses. After this an Economic Survey will be presented.

1 February: Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman will present the budget for the eighth consecutive time.

12-13 February: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will answer the vote of thanks on the President’s address and Sitharaman will answer the discussion on the budget.

Second part: From 10 March (Monday) to 4 April (Friday), there will be 18 meetings in 26 days.

March 10: Discussion and approval on grant demands of different ministries and departments.

Now know about all 16 bills…

1. The Finance Bill, 2025- The budget is a kind of finance bill. Through this, budgetary provisions of 2025-26 will be proposed. All finance bills including the budget can be introduced only in the Lok Sabha after the President’s consent.

2. The Waqf (Amendment) Bill, 2024- It appeared in the Lok Sabha on August 8, 2024 and was sent to the Joint Parliamentary Committee (JPC). Through this, the structure of the Central Waqf Council and Waqf Board will be changed. Also, a provision will be made to go to the High Court against Waqf.

3. The Muslim Waqf (Ripil) Bill, 2024- It was introduced in the Lok Sabha in August 2024 along with the Waqf Bill. This will end the Muslim Waqf Act, 1923. However, this Waqf Act will not apply to 1995.

4. The Realidsustment of Representation of Scheduled Tribes in Assembly Constipation of the Goa Bill, 2024- It was introduced in the Lok Sabha on August 2024. Through this, there is a provision for reservation for schedule tribes in Goa Legislative Assembly. Right now there is not a reserve for a single seat ST.

5. The Disaster Management (Amendment) Bill, 2024- Has passed the Lok Sabha in December 2024. Through this, a provision will be made to establish the National Disaster Management Authority at the national level, the State Disaster Management Authority at the state level and the District Disaster Management Authority at the district level. Apart from this, it will also give states the right to create separate urban disaster management authority for the state capital and cities.

6. The Banking Law (Amendment) Bill, 2024- In August, 2024, appeared in the Lok Sabha. It has been brought to amend 5 banking laws. It also includes the Reserve Bank of India Act of 1934. Through this, amendments related to the tenure of the directors of cooperative banks, the settlement of the uncured amount will be made.

7. The Railways (Amendment) Bill, 2024- Has passed the Lok Sabha in December 2024. It will include the provisions related to the Railway Board in The Railways Act- 1989 by abolishing the Indian Railway Board Act- 1905.

8. The Tribhuvan Cooperative University Bill, 2025- It was planned to be introduced during the winter session, but it could not happen due to several reasons. It is expected to be brought in the budget session. Through this bill, the Institute of Rural Management (IRMA) in Anand, Gujarat will get the right to establish a university. The university of this national importance will be named Tribhuvan Cooperative University.

9. The Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Amendment Bill, 2024- It appeared in the Rajya Sabha in August 2024 and passed the House in December. Through this, changes will be made in the 1984 Oilfields (Regulation and Development) Act. There will be provisions related to petroleum mining lease.

10. The Boylers Bill, 2024- It appeared in the Rajya Sabha in August 2024 and passed the House in December. It will replace the 1923 Boylers Act. There are no clean laws related to manufacturers in the country. This will give more strength to the state governments in this regard.

11. The Bills of Lading Bill, 2024- In August 2024, he appeared in the Lok Sabha. It will replace the 169 -year -old 1856 The Indian Bills of Lading Act. Through this, the central government will be able to issue instructions to implement provisions related to Lading (Cargo Ship) laws.

12. The Caries of Goods by C Bill, 2024- It appeared in the Lok Sabha on August 2024. It will replace the 100 -year -old The Indian Caries of Goods bye Act.

13. The Coastal Shipping Bill, 2024- It appeared in the Lok Sabha in December 2024. This Merchant Shipping Act will replace Part 14 of 1958. The bill has been brought for regulation of vessels in marine trade within India. It will also apply to other ships such as ship, boat.

14. The Merchant Shipping Bill, 2024- In August 2024, he appeared in the Lok Sabha. It will replace the 1958 merchant shipping bill, 2024. This will make registration of water vessels mandatory. Also, necessary provisions will also be made for ship owners.

15. The Protection of Interest in Aircraft Objects Bill, 2025- This can be introduced in this session. Provisions related to aviation financeing will be made through this bill.

16. The Immigration and Foreigners Bill, 2025- This bill can be brought for changes in immigration and foreigners.
