Government Jobs in Bihar: The Bihar government has expedited the recruitment process for 27,000 vacant posts to strengthen health services in the state. Health Minister Mangal Pandey told the assembly that this process will be completed in a phased manner.
Advertisement of 17,000 posts issued, Sent for 10,000
So far, advertisements have been issued for recruitment to 17,000 posts. Apart from this, the Superintendent has been sent to the Bihar Technical Services Commission (BTSC) for the restoration of 10,000 other posts. Soon eligible candidates will be appointed and the shortage of doctors and other health workers in the state hospitals will be removed.
Status of health centers in the state
The Health Minister informed that 326 Community Health Centers (CHC) are working in a total of 534 blocks in Bihar. Apart from this, 1,494 Additional Primary Health Center (APHC) is also serving. The government aims to further improve medical facilities in these centers.
Recruitment process of doctors continues
3,623 specialist doctors, 667 general physicians and 808 dentists have been sent to restore doctors. At the same time, the process is going on for regular appointment for 7,903 vacant posts of GNM (General Nursing and Midwifery).
Specialist doctors recruitment
The government has also taken steps to restore specialist doctors. A superintendent has been sent to the Bihar Technical Services Commission to fill 542-542 posts of General Surgeon and Gynecologist. Advertisement has already been released under this recruitment process.

216 hospitals will be converted into first referral unit
To further strengthen health services in the state, 216 hospitals will be converted into the First Referral Unit (FURU). Facilities like 24 hours delivery and cesarean will be provided in these hospitals. This service has started in 100 hospitals right now.
