At present 21 companies of police are deployed on Khanauri border. About 2 thousand policemen and paramilitary forces are on guard. Apart from this, 3 Vajra vehicles, fire brigade vehicles and many tear gas shells have been kept.
Now, in view of the crowd of people continuously joining the farmers movement, pellet guns have also been given to the police personnel. This is the same pellet gun which the army and police use to control stone pelters in Kashmir. It is used there also as a last weapon.
Government’s arrangements strengthened at Khanauri border
Till now the protest is going on peacefully at the Khanauri border, but if the farmers leave from Khanauri also to march to Delhi or the farmers plan to cross this border together under some circumstances, then the government will take steps to thwart these intentions of the farmers. Complete preparations have already been made.
To stop the farmers from going to Delhi, first of all a concrete wall has been built at the block. Apart from Central Security Forces, paramilitary forces, Haryana Police personnel have been deployed here.
Apart from guns, pepper spray, tear gas shells in their hands, Vajra vehicles are deployed there. As soon as the crowd tries to break the barricade, they will be sprayed with pepper spray or cold water will be poured from the Vajra vehicle. Even after this, if the crowd does not stop, tear gas shells will be used.
If the protesters move forward even after the tear gas shells, the police will first fire in the air and warn them and appeal to them to step back. If the crowd ignores this appeal of the police and moves ahead, then in such a situation the police will use pellet guns as the last weapon.
The soldiers going home after the end of daily duty have been specially instructed to keep their phones on 24 hours, they can be called at any time during the night. Police officers and soldiers of Hisar range have been deployed on the border. These soldiers go away after marking their attendance after 5 pm. After this, only a few companies are deployed at the checkpoint on night duty.
On January 4, a mahapanchayat of farmers was held at Khanauri border. During this period, paramilitary personnel were also deployed in the fields on the Haryana side.
Pellet gun more effective than chilli bomb Earlier, the police used to use chilli bombs as their last weapon, when thrown on the crowd of protesters, it causes irritation to the skin and eyes, but it affects only a few people, hence it does not have much effect on the crowd of thousands. .
But pellet gun is more effective than chilli bomb. Not only India but many other countries also use pellet guns to control the crowd. If seen, it is a non-lethal weapon, that is, it is considered a non-lethal weapon.
On January 13, 2024, farmers tried to travel to Delhi from Shambhu and Khanauri border. The farmers had then alleged that rubber bullets were fired at them.

On February 16, when Punjab Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh met the injured farmers in the hospital, he himself confirmed that more than 10 farmers had been attacked with pellet guns.
After this, on February 21, while traveling to Delhi, young farmer Shubhakaran (22) died at Khanauri border. Farmers alleged that Haryana Police shot him in the head. However, the police had denied this.
