Hearing in Land for Job case now on January 30: CBI did not get permission to prosecute the railway officer; 9 accused in the case including Lalu-Tejashwi – Patna News

The hearing in the Land for Job case has been postponed today (January 16) in Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court. Now this case will be heard on January 30. The court did not give permission to prosecute a railway officer.

Even before this, on December 23, the hearing was postponed due to lack of permission to run the case. Five members of Lalu family are accused in this case. This includes Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav, Misa Bharti and Hema Yadav.

In the hearing held on October 7, all the nine accused including Lalu family were granted bail in the Land for Job case. Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court had granted bail to all on a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh each. The court had directed everyone to surrender their passports.

Lalu-Tejashwi were interrogated in January 2024

In the Land for Jobs case, on January 20, 2024, officials of Delhi and Patna team of ED had interrogated Lalu and Tejashwi for more than 10 hours. According to ED sources, more than 50 questions were asked to Lalu Prasad. He mostly gave yes or no answers. Lalu had also gone to Jhalla several times during interrogation. At the same time, Tejashwi was interrogated for about 10-11 hours on January 30.

Know the whole story of Land for Job deal in 7 points

Deal 1: CBI preliminary investigation found that on February 6, 2008, Kishun Dev Rai of Patna transferred his land in the name of Rabri Devi at a very low price. That means 3,375 square feet of land was sold to Rabri Devi for just Rs 3.75 lakh. Also, in the same year, three family members Raj Kumar Singh, Mithilesh Kumar and Ajay Kumar got jobs on Group D posts in Central Railway Mumbai.

Deal 2: In February 2008, Sanjay Rai of Mahuabagh, Patna also sold 3,375 square feet of land to Rabri Devi for just Rs 3.75 lakh. CBI found in its investigation that apart from Sanjay Rai, two other members of the family got jobs in Railways.

Deal 3: Kiran Devi, a resident of Patna, sold her 80,905 square feet land to Lalu Yadav’s daughter Misa Bharti for just Rs 3.70 lakh in November 2007. After this, in 2008, Kiran Devi’s son Abhishek Kumar got a job in Central Railway Mumbai.

Deal 4: In February 2007, Patna resident Hazari Rai sold his 9,527 square feet land to Delhi-based company AK Infosystem Private Limited for Rs 10.83 lakh. Later Hazari Rai’s two nephews Dilchand Kumar and Prem Chand Kumar got jobs in West-Central Railway Jabalpur and South-Eastern Railway Kolkata.

CBI found that all the rights and assets of AK Infosystems were given to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter and wife in the year 2014. Rabri Devi bought most of the shares of the company in 2014 and later became the director of the company.

Deal 5: Patna resident Lal Babu Rai transferred his 1,360 square feet land in the name of Rabri Devi for just Rs 13 lakh in May 2015. When CBI investigated, it was found that Lal Chand Kumar, son of Lal Babu Rai, had got a job in North-Western Railway, Jaipur in 2006.

Deal 6: In March 2008, Brij Nandan Rai sold his 3,375 square feet land to Gopalganj resident Hridayanand Chaudhary for Rs 4.21 lakh. Hridayanand Chaudhary got a job in East-Central Railway Hajipur in the year 2005. In 2014, Hridayanand Chaudhary transferred this land to Lalu Prasad Yadav’s daughter Hema through a gift deed.

When CBI investigated, it found that Hridayanand Chaudhary and Lalu Prasad Yadav are not even distant relatives. Also, the value of the land which was given as a gift was Rs 62 lakh as per the circle rate at that time.

Deal 7: Vishun Dev Rai gave his 3,375 square feet land to Siwan resident Lalan Chaudhary in March 2008. Lalan’s grandson Pintu Kumar got a job in Western Railway Mumbai in 2008. After this, Lalan Chaudhary gave this land to Hema Yadav in February 2014.
