The child has been admitted to the hospital for 15 days. Dr. Nirav Patel of Orange Hospital, Chandkheda, while talking to Divya Bhaskar, said that a two-month-old child living in a village near Modasa was admitted to the hospital 15 days ago when his health deteriorated. The child had cold and high fever. Initially he was also kept on ventilator for five days. In several subsequent tests, the child was found to be positive with the HMPV virus. This virus shows symptoms like common cold and flu and do not touch eyes, nose and ears if not necessary. Also, in case of cold and cough, avoid going to public places and get enough sleep. It is also advised to drink more water and eat nutritious food and avoid contact with belongings of an infected person.

Isolation ward will be built in Ahmedabad Civil: Superintendent Superintendent of Ahmedabad Civil Hospital, Dr. Rakesh Joshi has said that a case has come to light in Gujarat today. The virus is likely to affect children, senior citizens and people with low immunity. This virus is years old. There is no need to be afraid of this, but there is definitely a need for vigilance and attention. Isolation ward will be prepared for HMPV virus patients in civil. The Pediatrics Department has been instructed to make preparations in this regard.

What was seen earlier also is that once the virus is detected, there is no vaccine or medicine for it. But if the symptoms of cold and cough are detected and treated immediately, the patient will recover in five to seven days.
