How useful is this “serious” review? How much good will these rules do? Know about these 4 important proposed rules.

New Delhi:

These 4 important rules: Recently, after the embarrassing 1-3 defeat in the Australia tour, head coach Gautam Gambhir, captain Rohit Sharma, former BCCI secretary Jay Shah, chief selector Ajit Agarkar and another senior player. There was a review meeting with BCCI officials for about six hours. The news of this meeting is coming out one after the other quoting sources. In this meeting, the head coach termed the players of Team India as undisciplined and made demands from the top officials of the board. And before the tour of England in June this year, BCCI is going to change many of the demands made by Gautam in the rules. Some rules have come to light. A large section of them is laughing at some of the rules, some are being praised, and questions are being raised about some as to why it was already in force? Let us tell you about the rules in detail one by one.

1. Control over wives/girlfriends

These proposed rules are the most discussed. And this has become a subject of universal laughter among former cricketers, fans and social media. The proposed rule is that if a foreign tour is for 45 days, then the wife/girlfriend or any family member cannot stay with the player for more than 14 days i.e. two weeks. The team players and head coach are unanimous regarding this rule. In short foreign tours, a family member can stay with the player for up to a week.

2. Proposal to reduce fees

In the review meeting, a senior player also proposed that if players cannot play in domestic tournaments, then their match fees should not be paid. The player also said that BCCI should not pay the match fees immediately but later. Now it remains to be seen whether BCCI changes this proposal into a rule or not. In fact, the current situation demands this necessary rule. It remains to be seen how much BCCI agrees.

3. Personal staff not allowed to travel along

According to the coming report, in order to bring discipline in the team, BCCI is going to ban the players from taking personal staff with them. This includes chef, cook, hair dresser, stylist, security guard and social media team. For example, Hardik Pandya used to take a personal chef with him on foreign tours. The question is, why did BCCI give so much freedom in the first place? Why was this not noticed earlier? When BCCI’s own social media manager is on tour with the team, why are players allowed to take personal social media teams?

4. Ban on private transport!

It was being reported for a long time that some players of Team India, especially the superstars, were coming to the practice ground in different groups in their own vehicles. When Gambhir raised this issue loudly in the meeting, he also got the support of the senior players. And the question is also that how did the “water” go so high? In Australia too, it was seen that many players were reaching the ground by taxi instead of coming from the hotel in the team bus, to practice in different groups. And this aspect in itself is enough to say, tell and explain everything.
