Mumbai:
Politics has been hot in Maharashtra to remove the grave of Mughal ruler Aurangzeb. On the issue of Aurangzeb’s tomb, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) and Bajrang Dal have announced a movement in the entire state today. VHP and Bajrang Dal have threatened that if there is a delay in removing the grave, they will do ‘karseva’. In view of the situation, the State Reserve Police Force has been deployed near the tomb. Maharashtra-Goa Vishwa Hindu Parishad region chief Govind Shende spoke to news agency IANS on Sunday on the demand for Aurangzeb’s tomb remove. He said that some people are engaged in praising Aurangzeb. I want to say that it cannot be the icon of the country. Aurangzeb tortured the country a lot. Tortured Hindus. Tortured his father. No such cruel person will be tolerated in this India anymore. Therefore, we are appealing to the government to remove Aurangzeb’s grave from there, understanding the spirit of Hindus.
- In the current budget session of Maharashtra Legislative Assembly, Mahayuti MLAs collectively raised the demand to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb. Let me tell you that the Maharashtra government had changed the name of Aurangabad to Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar.
- CM Devendra Fadnavis has also supported this demand, but he also says that he is under the patronage of the grave ASI.
- Now Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have also raised the same demand. Both Hindu organizations have warned the government that if they are unable to remove the grave in a legal manner, they will do karseva.
- The district administration has increased the security of Aurangzeb’s grave. Also, Hinduist leader Milind Ekbote has been banned from entering Chhatrapati Sambhajinagar from March 16 to April 5.
- This decision has been taken in view of law and order. Because the administration had received intelligence that Ekbote and their supporters could come to Khuldabad to remove the grave of Aurangzeb.

There will be movement in a phased manner
Regarding the removal of Aurangzeb’s grave, he further said that the movement will be carried forward in a phased manner, which will start with public awareness initiative. This includes protests, memorandum, effigy combustion, meetings and awareness programs. The last phase will be Sambhajinagar March. Meanwhile, the government will have enough time to think and churn.
Opposition does not want the grave to be removed
At the same time, the opposition has a different stand on this issue. They do not want the grave to be removed, because they feel that it is a symbol of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj’s victory over Aurangzeb. Apart from this, he also criticized the ultimatum given by Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang. According to the opposition, this will only create tension in the society and requested the government to take action against them.
Uddhav Thackeray’s Shiv Sena leader Anand Dubey has accused the central government of adopting double standards. He said, the Archaeological Survey of India, which protects the tomb, is under the Central Government. Who is stopping them from taking action?
Let us know that on March 15, Vinod Bansal, the national spokesperson of the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP), posted on the social media platform ‘X’. Vinod Bansal wrote in the post, “The upcoming Monday 17 March is the auspicious birth anniversary of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj. He put three generations for the Hindavi Swarajya and protecting it and chewed the terrorists to the Mughals. And the Bajrang Dal workers will demonstrate to remove Aurangzeb’s tomb throughout Maharashtra on that day and give a memorandum to the government through the local Collector that Aurangzeb’s tomb and Aurangzebi mentality should be destroyed with the holy land of Shivaji Maharaj.
