IIT Patna: Construction of a 732 -bed hostel has started in Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Patna. This hostel will be for boys. Professor TN Singh, Director of IIT Patna, has laid the foundation stone on Tuesday. This new hostel will be built at a cost of about 55 crores. This IIT will be funded by internal resources of Patna. This project is an important step towards the institute’s self -reliance and better infrastructure for students.
There will be 366 rooms in the new hostel
According to the information received, this new hostel will be spread over 15,480 square meters and will have 366 rooms. Two beds will be installed in each of which. The hostel will have an outdoor badminton court, a green entertainment area and 32 rooms containing toilets for especially disabled students.

A historic moment for IIT Patna…
Construction of this 732 -bed hostel is expected to be completed by May 2026. For the implementation of this project, Bridge and Roof Company India Limited has been appointed as Management Advisor (PMC). IIT Patna Director Professor TN Singh said, “Today IIT is a historic moment for Patna. This project is the result of collective and dedicated efforts of our faculty, employees and students. ”
He further said, “This is an important initiative towards making the hostel institute self -reliant and we are committed to providing the highest quality infrastructure for the overall development of students.”
