Aam Aadmi supremo Arvind Kejriwal on Monday announced that if his party forms the government again in Delhi, it will start the Pujari Granthi Samman Yojana. Under this, an allowance of Rs 18 thousand will be given every month to the priests of the temple and the priests of the Gurudwaras.
Kejriwal said that registration for the scheme will start from tomorrow. Kejriwal will visit Hanuman Temple in Connaught Place on Tuesday. Where they will check the registration process.
Here, Imams of Delhi Waqf Board demonstrated outside Kejriwal’s house. The Imams claim that they have not received their salaries for 17 months. For this he has complained to everyone including CM, LG.
Kejriwal said – BJP people should not stop this scheme, otherwise it will be a sin.
After the announcement of the scheme, Kejriwal said that priests and granthis are an important part of the society, but their problems are often ignored. BJP people had unsuccessfully tried to stop the registration of Mahila Samman and Sanjeevani Yojana. Now these people should not stop the registration of Priest-Granthi Samman Yojana, otherwise they will commit sin.

Regarding Kejriwal’s Priest-Granthi Samman Yojana, BJP spokesperson Amit Malviya said that after 10 years, the great fraudster Arvind Kejriwal has announced a new scheme to cheat the priests of temples and the Granthis of Gurudwara Sahib. But they don’t even know how many priests and granthis there are in Delhi. A series of false promises have been made before the elections.
Amit wrote in X post – Imams have not even been paid salaries for the last 17 months, and they are continuously protesting. The people of Delhi know that this anti-Hindu announcement of AAP is also just air.
Protesting Imam said – met officials 50 times, did not get salary
Rest of the Imams of Waqf Board including Sajid Rashidi, Mohammad Ibrahim and Mohammad Murtaza are protesting outside Kejriwal’s house.
All India Imam Association Chairman Sajid Rashidi, who was protesting outside Kejriwal’s house, said that he has been meeting officials and leaders for the last six months regarding the delay in salaries, but no solution has been found. Rashidi says that he has met every small and big official including the Chief Minister and LG about 50 times.
Rashidi has warned the Delhi government that if the salaries of 240 Imams are not given soon, then they will sit on strike and will not move from there until the salaries are not received.
The protesters claimed that their monthly honorarium of Rs 18,000 for Imams and Rs 16,000 for Muezzins has not been received for more than one and a half years.
Kejriwal had announced this before Delhi elections
The current tenure of Delhi Assembly ends on 23 February 2025. Elections may be held in the next two months. The last assembly elections were held in February 2020, in which the Aam Aadmi Party won an absolute majority and 62 out of 70 seats.

The expenses of coaching of children will also be given.
- November 21: Pension up to ₹ 2500 every month to 5 lakh people Announced to restart the pension scheme for the elderly. 80 thousand new elderly people have been added to the scheme. Earlier 4.50 lakh people used to get the benefit of this scheme. Now more than five lakh people will come under its purview.
