Congress is now accelerating its campaign for the Delhi Assembly elections. The big thing is that the Congress, which fought the Lok Sabha elections together, has now openly come out against Arvind Kejriwal and the Aam Aadmi Party. Rahul Gandhi himself is now attacking Kejriwal. Rahul Gandhi’s arrival at Najafgarh drain in Rithala assembly constituency can prove to be very important from the point of view of Delhi elections. This is telling that Congress’s dilemma regarding Aam Aadmi Party is now ending. Rahul Gandhi has directly attacked Kejriwal’s claims and termed them ‘liar’.
Rahul Gandhi also shared a video on social media platform X. In this, he is seen standing with party workers and media persons next to a dirty drain. In this post, Rahul Gandhi wrote, “This is Kejriwal ji’s ‘shining’ Delhi – Paris wali Delhi!” The hashtag ‘Clean Delhi’ has also been given to the video.

Rahul Gandhi has now become completely active in Delhi elections. He directly attacked Kejriwal and said that like Narendra Modi, Kejriwal also does politics of lies. They remain silent on the question of caste census. For the first time after the formation of India alliance, Rahul has openly attacked Kejriwal. Kejriwal has also hit back and accused Congress and BJP of being behind the scenes.

Kejriwal hit back and said that Rahul Gandhi is fighting to save the Congress, but he (Kejriwal) is fighting to save the country. The AAP chief said that the Delhi Assembly elections will expose the ‘jugalbandi’ between Congress and BJP. Kejriwal said that he spoke only one line about Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and the reply is coming from BJP. Look at how much trouble BJP is facing. Perhaps this Delhi election will reveal the ‘Jugalbandi’ that has been going on behind the scenes between Congress and BJP for years.
Congress leaders hit back and said that when Arvind Kejriwal was not even born, Congress people were facing the blows of the British. They were opening a front against the British. Congress people were never afraid even of the British. He said that Kejriwal is a bigot, he will not understand that Congress means the country.

It is clear that now Congress is also working on a strategy to corner the Aam Aadmi Party. Indications of this were also seen on Monday, when Rahul Gandhi reached Seelampur assembly constituency to address his first rally for Delhi elections.
Rahul Gandhi said, “Kejriwal came and said that I will clean Delhi, eradicate corruption, make Paris. Now the situation is such that there is terrible pollution. People remain sick. People are not able to go out. Like PM Modi. Kejriwal also makes false promises and campaigns, there is no difference between the two.
The Congress leader said, “When I talk about caste census, not a single word comes out of Kejriwal’s mouth. Because he wants that backward people, Dalits, tribals and minorities should not get participation in governance and resources in the country. Ask Kejriwal to tell the country that he will increase the reservation limit and conduct caste census.”
The alliance between the two constituents of ‘India’ alliance, Congress and Aam Aadmi Party, could not be formed for the Haryana Assembly elections last year, after which the relations between ‘AAP’ and Congress deteriorated. Both the parties had contested the 2024 Lok Sabha elections in Delhi in alliance. However, now both the parties are contesting separately in the assembly elections to be held on February 5.
Congress sources say that the party now wants to regain its lost ground in Delhi. The party knows that as long as the Aam Aadmi Party remains strong, its comeback will be difficult. After the rise of Aam Aadmi Party, the vote bank of Congress has shifted towards it. Especially the Aam Aadmi Party has completely breached the Muslim vote of Congress.
Therefore, now Congress is completely attacking the Aam Aadmi Party. When Kejriwal retaliated after Rahul Gandhi’s speech, Youth Congress President Uday Bhanu Chib directly attacked Kejriwal. He posted on X, “We will save the country, you prepare to return to Tihar.”
Congress, which got zero seats in the last two assembly elections, has changed its strategy. For instance,
- An attempt has been made to directly corner Arvind Kejriwal in the New Delhi Assembly.
- The party has fielded Sandeep Dikshit, son of former Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, against Kejriwal.
- Similarly, Mahila Congress President Alka Lamba has been fielded against Chief Minister Atishi.
- As a counter to the populist promises of Aam Aadmi Party, the party has also announced to give Rs 2500 to women.
- Party treasurer Ajay Maken even called Kejriwal a traitor.
There was a dilemma for the Congress because the leaders of the India Alliance like Mamata Banerjee, Akhilesh Yadav and Sharad Pawar have announced their support for the Aam Aadmi Party instead of the Congress in the Delhi elections, but it is clear from the party’s stand that now For him, taking back the lost ground in Delhi is a bigger goal than the boundaries of the alliance.
Let us tell you that voting for Delhi Assembly Elections 2025 will be held in a single phase on 5th February. According to the Election Commission, a total of 1.55 crore voters including 83,49,645 men, 71,73,952 women and 1,261 third gender voters will exercise their valuable right. The result will be announced on 8 February.
