What happened in Ghodathamba?
On the evening of 14 March 2025, a Toli of 15-20 people, which was taking out a Holi procession, wanted to pass through the mosque street. But police and Muslims stopped them. Hindus explained to them that they go by this path every year. After this, when a group of Hindus proceeded, Muslims attacked with petrol bombs, bottles, bricks and stones. Shops, bikes and vehicles were set on fire near Bazaar Chowk.
It is clearly written in the FIR that the attackers also pelted stones at the temple in the back street. When the police arrived, his vehicles were also set on fire. Four policemen were injured in this violence. The FIR was lodged by Surendra Kumar Varnwal, BPO cum Magistrate of Dhanwar.
The initial 11 accused in the FIR are named after Hindus, while the attack has been mentioned by the Muslim community. The names of a total of 39 Hindus and 41 Muslims have been included.
