A case of suicide of a female software engineer has come to light in Hyderabad. 25 -year -old Devika hanged himself by hanging a sealing fan in her house in Prashanti Hills, Redurgam on the night of 2 March.
After the incident, the mother of the deceased Devika lodged a police complaint. In which said that son -in -law Satish used to harass Devika for dowry since marriage. Fed up with this, he committed suicide.
Devika and Satish worked in the same software company. The two knew each other for 2 years. About six months ago, both of them were married in Goa in August 2024.
Dead mother and family allegations
- In the complaint lodged at Raidurgam police station, Devika’s mother said that the son -in -law pressured the daughter to get the registered house in her name in her name. Also disturbed for dowry.
- Devika’s family members said in a conversation with the media- her husband used to torture her about dowry. He had to bear physical and mental harassment. If he was no longer tolerated, he killed himself.

After the initial investigation, a police officer said that on the night of March 2, there was a debate between the husband and wife about the TV remote, after which the husband left home.
