IND vs AUS: “If he was not there, the series would have been…” Glenn McGrath gave a big statement regarding Jasprit Bumrah

Praising Jasprit Bumrah, veteran cricketer Glenn McGrath said on Wednesday that if this fast bowler was not there in the Indian team, then the series being played for the Border Gavaskar Trophy would have been completely one-sided in favor of Australia. India is currently trailing 1-2 in the five-Test series. The fifth and final match of the series will be played at the Sydney Cricket Ground from Friday. Bumrah has performed brilliantly in the series so far and has taken 30 wickets at an average of less than 20. Indian batsmen have not been able to perform well due to which the team is lagging behind.

McGrath told reporters on the sidelines of his foundation’s cancer awareness program, “He (Bumrah) is an important part of the Indian team and if he was not there, the series would have been completely one-sided. This shows how special he is.” 54-year-old McGrath, a legendary fast bowler of his time, has been actively working to bring awareness to the disease after the death of his wife Jane from cancer in 2008.

He is keeping a close eye on the ongoing series between India and Australia and is extremely impressed with Bumrah’s performance. McGrath said in reference to Bumrah’s short run-up, “He is a great bowler who has found a way to adjust to the conditions. The way he gives all his strength in the last few steps of the run-up, it is really incredible. “

McGrath, who has taken 563 wickets in Test cricket, sees a lot of similarity between himself and Bumrah in terms of hyper-extension of his arms (when the elbow joint bends backward beyond its normal limit). He said, “His hand bends more backwards as it was in my case also. He has great control over it and uses it well. I am a big fan of Jasprit.”

McGrath worked at the MRF Pace Foundation in Chennai for a long time and said that one of his disciples, Prasidh Krishna, has a bright future. He said, “India is passionate about cricket. Working with MRF Pace Foundation for 12 years, we have produced some good fast bowlers including Prasidh Krishna who is currently in the team.”

McGrath said, “He is a very good young fast bowler and I am sure he will have a great career ahead. India has no shortage of talented players and this is not only in bowling but also in batting. They have talented batsmen like Yashasvi Jaiswal. Are.” He said, “The most special thing about these young players is that they play without fear. We also have such a player in Sam Konstans.”
