Kapil Dev on Border Gavaskar Trophy: The Indian team is currently on a tour of Australia, where a five-Test series is being played between the countries. The Indian team had registered a historic win by 295 runs in the first match of this series, whereas in the second match, Team India had to face defeat by 10 wickets. In such a situation, the series was tied at 1-1 and everyone’s attention was towards Brisbane, where the third match of the series between the two countries was to be held at Gabba.
In the Gabba Test, Indian captain Rohit Sharma surprised everyone by winning the toss and deciding to field first. Australia accepted this gift from India with both hands and scored 445 in the first innings. In response, India’s first innings was reduced to just 260 runs. However, the Indian bowlers made a strong comeback after this. But this rain-affected match ultimately ended in a draw.
There are still two matches left in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series and to reach the final of the World Test Championship, India needs to win both the matches. If India does not do this, then the chances of the Indian team reaching the final of the World Test Championship will not be in its hands. Before the fourth match of the series, Kapil Dev has given his reaction regarding the performance of the Indian team in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy series.
Speaking at a private event of the Adani Group in Ahmedabad, Gujarat, former Indian captain Kapil Dev said, “He played the first Test very well, the second Test very poorly. The third Test was also a lot of ups and downs and he somehow survived. It doesn’t matter that there are still two Test matches left.

Kapil Dev further said, “You have to think positive. What more positive things can you take from this Test match and move forward. I think you have to think positive for the next Test. Well, he did not play as we were thinking. We started thinking and expecting too much, this is our fault too.”
In this program, Kapil Dev said about Adani Group Chairman Gautam Adani, “When you are not doing well, do not remember that time. Gautam Bhai has also done the same. You must have read so much in the newspaper. There have been ups and downs. But at the end of the day, people realize how good you are.”
