IND vs AUS: KL Rahul or Rohit Sharma, who should open in the second test? Ravi Shastri took this name

India vs Australia 2nd Test, Ravi Shastri: The first match of the five-Test Border-Gavaskar Trophy series was played between India and Australia in Perth. Indian captain Rohit Sharma was not a part of the Indian team in this match, after which KL Rahul along with Yashasvi Jaiswal opened the innings for India. KL Rahul looked very good in both the innings of Perth. Even the veterans seemed happy with his technique. KL Rahul had scored 26 runs in 74 balls before being given out wrongly in the first innings of the Perth Test. Whereas in the second innings he scored 77 runs and along with Jaiswal gave a good start to India.

India had registered a big victory of 295 runs against Australia in the Perth Test. Rohit Sharma was associated with the Indian team during the Perth Test and he is ready to lead Team India once again for the Test to be held in Adelaide. However, ever since Rohit Sharma joined the team, there has been a debate about who should open for the day-night test. Now Ravi Shastri has given his opinion on this issue.

Former cricketer and commentator Ravi Shastri has supported KL Rahul to continue opening for India in the second Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy. Ravi Shastri believes that Rohit Sharma has not spent much time in Australia yet, hence KL Rahul should open the innings. Let us tell you, the question of opening is such that Indian coach Gautam Gambhir needs to solve it soon. Making his views clear, Shastri said that India should continue to support Rahul in the opening. For Shastri personally, the right approach would be to proceed with the same setup.

Shastri said in the ICC review, “I think he (Rahul) should keep opening the innings, because Rohit has not got much time since coming here (Australia).” He said, “Very soon he had to play the match of Prime Minister’s XI. But I would say that proceed with the same setup. He (Rohit) can bat at number five or six.”

Apart from Rohit, India will also be strengthened by the return of Shubman Gill, who was out of the Perth Test due to a hand injury. He wasted no time in doing his job and scored a half-century in the Prime Minister’s XI match.

He said, “Shubman Gill being fit also makes the Indian team very strong. I would say that out of all the teams that have come to Australia in the last 10-15 years, you will realize that this is one of the strongest batting lines. Only because you have experience and he bats at number three, Rohit comes back and plays in place of (Devdutt) Jurel.

Let us tell you, the Pink Ball Test between India and Australia is to be played from 6th December. This match to be held in Adelaide will be played from 9:30 am Indian time. India is currently leading the series 1-0 and will be eyeing a 2-0 lead in the series.
