Indian cricket team announced for Champions Trophy
Team India Squad for Champions Trophy 2025: Champions Trophy 2025 is going to be organized next month i.e. from 19th February. The tournament will be played on hybrid model from 19 February to 9 March for which the Indian team has been announced. The Indian cricket team will start its campaign in the Champions Trophy from 20th February. Team India has been placed in Group A along with Bangladesh, Pakistan and New Zealand. Team India’s first match will be against Bangladesh in Dubai. After this, Team India will face defending champion Pakistan on 23 February. This great match will also be played in Dubai. The Indian team will play its third and last match in the group stage against New Zealand in Dubai on March 2.
Command of the team is in the hands of Rohit
Rohit Sharma has been made the captain of Team India for the Champions Trophy. Jasprit Bumrah and Mohammed Shami have also been included in India’s 15-member team. Bumrah was injured during the Australia tour and could not bowl in the second innings of the last Test, after which speculations started that he might be out of the group stage of the Champions Trophy but now it became clear after the team was announced. That he will be a part of the team in the tournament. However, Bumrah’s fitness is still under question. Chief selector Ajit Agarkar said that Jasprit is waiting for Bumrah’s fitness and will know about his condition from the BCCI medical team in early February.
Siraj out of the team
On the other hand, Mohammed Shami has returned to the Indian ODI team after 14 months. Shami played his last international match for Team India in the ODI World Cup in November 2023. Like Shami, Bumrah has also joined the ODI team after 14 months. Mohammad Siraj is not included in the team. Arshdeep Singh has been given a chance in his place. Washington Sundar and Hardik Pandya have been included in the team as all-rounders. Kuldeep Yadav is also in the team. Yashasvi Jaiswal has been included in the ODI team for the first time.
