Indore population will be doubled in 35 years, satellite town and highrise will have to be handled by increasing city – Indore’s Population will double in 35 years, growing City will have to be managed by satellite town and high

Efforts will have to be made to ensure that public transport is better. Proposals for planning are being made by keeping the Transport Corridor (TOD) in the middle around the metro and BRTS. This is being done because of the expansion on both sides and public transport can also be maintained. This is the reason that now the number of highraise projects in Indore has also increased.

New Duniya Representative, Indore. There is immense possibilities of investment in Indore. Indore is a group of cities, along with Ujjain, Saver, Dewas, Mhow, Pithampur and Dhar cities affect the development of Indore. In this way Indore has become a metropolis. The environment of Indore is such that activities like industrial, trade, health, education, religious tourism have developed here.

The Hinter Land of Indore is very big i.e. other nearby cities like Khandwa, Khargone, Barwani, Neemuch, Ratlam and Mandsaur are connected to Indore for some reason or the other. The city meets the employment, education and health needs of the entire Hinter Land. The proximity to the Narmada River and Mahakal and Omkareshwar pilgrimage also makes Indore special.

These things were said by Dr. Shubhashish Banerjee, Joint Director of City and Village Investment in the discussion program of New Duniya. He informed that Indore had a population of 31 lakhs in 2024 and in the year 2060, the population is estimated to be 55 to 60 lakhs. If the city doubles, there will also be challenges. There will be a need to stop the growing population in Indore city. In such a situation, it will be necessary that there is not much spread of our city expansion and development should be compact and composed.

Discussion of the New Duniya team with Joint Director of Shubhashish Banerjee Nagar and Village Investment.

Now there is a need to create new satellite town

  • Banerjee said that with the concept of the metropolis, now it is necessary to make new cities around Dewas, Mhow, Ujjain as satellite towns. It is likely to expand to Indore city Dewas Mhow, Ujjain, Pithampur.
  • In such a situation, an effective public transport, mass rapid transport system will have to be expanded on the lines of the metro. Metopalitan Area Plan is a regional plan and the master plan of development for the city is different.
  • Efforts will be made in the Metopalitan plan how the road facility should be the road facility between the cities. How to make a bypass for heavy vehicles.
  • How to plan natural resources water. How to expand public transport. Places between big cities where sateline towns are made. The surrounding location will be found for industrialization.
  • It should not be stopped in the advanced agricultural sector, it should not be that they are over in the expansion of urbanization. Forests, hills, river drains should be protected.

Master plan will be coordinated with metropolitin plan

  • According to Joint Director Banerjee, Indore Metopalitan Plan will be coordinated with the master plan in Indore. The first master plan was made in Indore in 1975.
  • It had many green areas and later many illegal colonies developed in that green area. First made a master plan in 1975. There were many green areas in it.
  • Later, many illegal colonies developed in that green area and it was decided by the government level that the green areas should be kept unchanged by not regularizing the development.
  • The government admitted that people would be encouraged if they convert the green area into residential. Indore clean is very much but there is a lot of fun and green area.
  • Because of this, our city does not look more green than Bhopal. In the master plan, the place is kept for plantation on the banks of rivers.
  • Green belts are shown. Many times, green belts are affected due to lapse in planning or non -time implementation.

There is a need to give priority to public transport instead of cars in the city

  • Banerjee said that trade and business activities are being conducted in Indore for generations, due to which there is an environment of investment here. There is trade in DNA of Indore.
  • Compared to other large metros, affordable housing is available in the real estate sector here. Indore is a suitable city for investment.
  • Indore’s grain is Chahumukhi, along with challenges like traffic and transport are also increasing. There is a need to do more work in the field of public transport in the city.
  • Instead of giving priority to cars in the city, we have to try to improve public transport. If this is not done, then the day is not far when the situation like Bangalore does not happen in Indore.
