In Uttarakhand, a Muslim man named Jabir Ali, calling himself Suraj, befriended a Hindu woman. After that, he had physical relations with her several times on the pretext of marriage. During this time, Jabir made an obscene video of the girl and forcibly married her by fearing defamation. Jabir spent a lot of fun on the woman’s money and when his money ran out, he left her after 6 years.
This case is of Kichha in Udham Singh Nagar of Uttarakhand. A woman living here has complained to the police in this regard. In her complaint, the woman said that her husband Jabir hid his identity from her and told her his name was Suraj. By becoming Suraj, he increased his acquaintance with him. After some time, Suraj Bana Jabir pretended to love her and had physical relations in the name of marriage.
In her complaint to the police, the 33-year-old victim, who belongs to a Scheduled Caste resident of Gaughat in Katharra, said, “He (Jabir) pretended to be in love with me and also made an obscene video. He used this to blackmail and force marriage.” The woman got scared due to fear of defamation. However, Jabir Ali continued in his plot.

One day Jabir Ali took the victim to the house of his elder sister living in Jehanabad and started forcing her to marry him. “When I refused, Jabir and his brothers – Abbas Ali, Riyasat, Zakir and Shakir – started making the video viral and threatening to kill me,” the victim said. Ultimately the victim was forced to marry.
The victim told that before forcing her to marry him, she considered Jabir Ali to be a Hindu. However, it was too late after the truth was discovered. Jabir used to beat the woman and put pressure on her to convert. When the victim was not ready for this, Jabir and his family members started threatening to kill her.
The victim has said in her complaint that at the time of marriage, she had many items including a two tola gold chain around her neck, two earrings of one tola each, a laptop. Along with this, he also had one lakh rupees. The victim says that after some time of marriage, her property got exhausted and she started being pressured to bring dowry. Ultimately the victim was thrown out of the house along with her 6-year-old child.
Based on the woman’s complaint, the police have registered a case against Jabir Ali and his brothers. A case was registered against the accused under sections 3 and 4 of the Dowry Prevention Act 1961 as well as sections 323 (voluntarily causing hurt), 498A (cruelty by husband or relatives) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC). The victim told the organizer that Jabir is a fakir and he works as an exorcist. The woman says, “He hypnotized me by becoming the sun. She used witchcraft and molested me to such an extent that I could not even think properly. Whatever he said or did seemed right to me at the time.”
The victim told that when she became pregnant, Jabir forced her to marry him. The victim said, “I never changed my name or religion and continued to follow Hindu practices like fasting during Navratri, reciting Durga Saptashati and organizing Kanya Bhoj. After marriage, Jabir took all my Statues and religious books Thrown away.”
The victim told that it was only after the birth of her son that she came to know that Jabir was already married and had children. The victim alleges that Jabir had done all this to grab her jewelery and money. The victim also said that during this time, Jabir and his family members used to call her a kafir and abuse her because of her caste.
According to the victim, “Jabir, while throwing me out of the house, said that I have done my work. Now you have no use for me.” The victim also said that immediately after the birth of her child, Jabir got him circumcised and started raising him according to Muslim customs while talking about teaching him Namaz etc. However, when the woman protested, he was thrown out of the house.
