On the first day of the mega auction of IPL 2025, the franchises bid heavily on the players and spent money like water. Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bought all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer. KKR bid heavily to buy Venkatesh Iyer and included him in their team for Rs 23.75 crore. In this way, Kolkata made it clear that Venkatesh Iyer is going to take command of their team next year.
Happy to be bought by his old franchise, all-rounder Venkatesh Iyer on Sunday said he would gladly accept the challenge of captaining the team. Let us tell you, before the auction, KKR had decided not to retain their 2024 IPL winning captain Shreyas Iyer. This was the reason why the team spent a huge amount in the auction to buy Venkatesh Iyer.

Pant became the most expensive player of IPL

There was a huge bid for Pant but LSG did not give up till the end and managed to buy the ace wicketkeeper-batsman for Rs 27 crores. Seeing the excellent captaincy of Iyer, Punjab is going to hand him the captaincy of its team.
