Bcci ban england batter harry brook for two season: England batsman Harry Brook has been banned from the Indian Premier League for the next two years. Harry Brook withdrew his name at the last moment, citing his commitments with the England national team before the start of IPL 2025. After which it was believed that the BCCI could ban them under new rules. At the same time, according to a media report, the BCCI has banned the brook, its information has been shared with the England and Wales Cricket Board.
According to the report of the Indian Express, a BCCI official said, “The official information has been sent to the ECB and Brook that the BCCI has imposed a two -year ban on them under its policy, whose information was shared with all the players before the registration of the players for the IPL auction last year. This is the policy set by the board and each player has to follow it.”
Last year, before the IPL mega auction, the BCCI had changed its rules. According to a new rule launched by the IPL, “Any player who registers for auction and after purchases, makes himself unavailable before the start of the season, will be banned from participating in tournaments and players auction for 2 seasons.”
In November last year, Harry Brook was bought by Delhi Capitals for Rs 6.25 crore. In the last auction too, Delhi bought him for Rs 4 crore. But earlier this week, to focus on their commitments with the England team, the England cricketer resorted to social media to declare his unavailability from the league.
Harry Brook said in a statement, “I have taken a very difficult decision to withdraw from the upcoming IPL. I apologize unconditionally to Delhi Capitals and his supporters.”
Brook further wrote, “I like cricket. Ever since I was a little boy, I have dreamed of playing for my country and I am very grateful to get the opportunity to play my favorite game at this level. With the guidance of the people I am confident, I have taken time to consider this decision seriously. The time needs time to recharge after the period. “
The IPL is to start from March 22. The initial match of the season will be between Kolkata Knight Riders and Royal Challengers Bangalore. At the same time, Delhi Capitals will initiate their campaign against Lucknow Super Giants on 24 March.
