Rajasthan Royals head coach Rahul Dravid will attend the team’s preparation camp in Jaipur on Wednesday. A week earlier, he suffered an injury to his left leg during a club match in Bengaluru. The IPL franchise shared a picture on social media on Wednesday, in which Dravid is seen wearing plaster in his left leg.
Sharing a photo of Dravid on X (East Twitter), Rajasthan Royals wrote, “Head coach Rahul Dravid, who was hurt while playing cricket in Bengaluru, is now recovering and will join us in Jaipur today.”

The former Royals captain spent five seasons with the franchise from 2011 to 2015. He started his coaching career with Royals in 2014, when he became the team’s mentor from the captain. Former India head coach Dravid made a surprise comeback on the cricket field by playing with his younger son Anvay in KSCA Group I, Division III League match at the Nasur Memorial Shield on 22 February.
Rahul Dravid and his son Anvay represented Vijaya Cricket Club (Malur) in a 50 -over match against Young Lions Club at SLS Creedangana Cricket Ground in Bangalore. Indian cricket veteran batted at number 6 and scored 10 runs in the match before being dismissed by spinner AR Ullaw, during which the father-son duo made a brief partnership of 17 runs for the fifth wicket.
Dravid played his second match of the tournament in the semi -finals against Jayanagar cricketers. When Vijaya Cricket Club was struggling at 12/3 in the seventh over, Rahul came to the crease with his son Anvay. The 52 -year -old player felt uncomfortable after playing two balls, had a pain in his leg, but he continued to play and shared a 43 -run partnership in 66 balls with Anvay for the fourth wicket.
Indian veteran players continued to bathe and continued to play until they were forced to go out of the field. Nevertheless, his courage failed to shine the fate of Vijaya Cricket Club, Malur in the semi -finals of KSCA Group III League tournament.
Dravid, who was in Guwahati for the recent pre-season camp of Rajasthan Royals before coming to Jaipur, will be seen in the dugout in the team’s first match of the team against Sunrisers Hyderabad at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on 23 March.
Rajasthan Royals won the title in the inaugural year in 2008 and reached the final again in 2022. Sanju Samson -led franchise finished third in the league stage in 2024 and lost to the last runner -up Sunrisers Hyderabad in Qualifier 2.
