First match of IPL between Bangalore-Kolkata on 22 March The IPL-2025 is to start from 22 March. The opening match of the 18th season of the league will take place between defending champions Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Kolkata. This time 74 matches will be played in 65 days. As of May 18, there will be 70 matches of league stage, including 12 double headers. That is, 2 matches will be played in 12 times in 1 day. The final will be held in Kolkata on 25 May.
13 Venue against 10 teams
- Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore, Lucknow, Mullanpur (Mohali), Delhi, Jaipur, Kolkata, Hyderabad are home grounds of 10 teams. Apart from these, matches will be played on Guwahati, Visakhapatnam and Dharamshala i.e. a total of 13 venue.
- In the tournament, 74 matches are to be held between 10 teams on 13 venue in 65 days.
- Guwahati is the second homeground of Rajasthan Royals (RR), there will be 2 matches of the team. The team will clash from Kolkata on 26 March and Chennai on 30 March.
- Dharamshala is the second home ground of Punjab Kings (PBKS). The team will have 3 matches here.
- Visakhapatnam is the second homeground of Delhi Capitals (DC). Here the team will play 2 matches.
