Congress MP Gogoi on Friday accused the BJP to take appropriate legal steps, accusing him of trying to discredit him and his family.
Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma welcomed the legal action plan on the dispute related to Gaurav Gogoi’s wife. Himanta said on Sunday that the state government is also starting legal proceedings.
Sarma said- As long as we are in office, we are tied to the oath to protect the security of the nation. So I recommend them to go to court as soon as possible so that the issue can be discussed on the judicial platform.

In fact, Himanta had accused Elizabeth Kalbourne, wife of Gaurav Gogoi, on 13 February of being associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI.
Sarma said- Attempt to infiltrate CM office during Congress
Earlier, on 15 February, Sarma had also talked about setting up SIT to investigate the allegations. Sarma said that the jewelry of the entire ecosystem will be examined. It is feared that Gaurav’s father Tarun Gogoi’s Chief Minister ISI tried to infiltrate the CM office.
On this, Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh wrote on X on Sunday- Assam CM and BJP have started a campaign to discredit my colleague Gaurav Gogoi. This is a cheap form of character violations.
This is happening because Gaurav won the Lok Sabha elections even after the BJP put full emphasis. In 12 months, the people of the state will make him (Himanta Biswa Sarma) former CM and will make his party sit in opposition.
In response, Sarma tweeted- Who will be the Chief Minister, the people of Assam will not decide you. I do not want to remind you of the derogatory defeat of Congress from 2014.
BJP said- Rahul Gandhi and Gogoi are weakening India
BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia accused Congress MP Gaurav Gogoi that Gogoi’s wife’s wires were associated with Pakistan’s intelligence agency ISI. Bhatia said- Rahul Gandhi had said a few days ago that his fight is with the Indian State. Now Gogoi’s wife’s relations have come out of ISI of Pakistan.
He said that Gogoi’s wife Elizabeth Kalbourne used to work with Ali Tauqir Sheikh, advisor to Pakistan Planning Commission. Rahul Gandhi and Gogoi are weakening India. At the same time, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma has demanded an inquiry from the government.
In the Lok Sabha, the opposition Deputy Leader Gogoi dismissed the allegations as fake. He said- My wife is accused of being an ISI agent, so I can also be called a raw agent.
He said that BJP has no issue, so it is making such baseless allegations. Even before the Lok Sabha elections, the BJP launched a similar campaign to defame him and his family.
Gogoi said that there is still a year left in the Assam assembly elections, but it seems that the BJP has weakened. People are losing their trust in the BJP, so they have made these allegations against me.
Gogoi said- I am India’s raw agent
Gogoi said- If my wife is the ISI agent of Pakistan, then I am India’s Raw Agent. I have no objection if a family against whom there are many cases and many allegations against me. Assam Chief Minister is leaving these allegations only to divert attention from the allegations against himself.
Assam CM demand- Pakistan connection should be investigated CM Sarma said that Gogoi cannot be left without answering. Chief Minister CM wrote on the social media platform X that the Pakistan Embassy should have a thorough investigation into the allegations of making Indian youth radical and brainwash.
He said that Gogoi should answer serious questions about the allegations of the ISI’s relationship with ISI, brainwashes of youth and taking them to radicals and refusing to take Indian citizenship for the last 12 years.
In fact, recently some media reports raised concerns about Gaurav Gogoi and his wife’s potential relations with the Pakistani agency and the activities of endangering national security. These reports have created panic in political circles.
