Israel has stopped thousands of displaced Palestinians from returning to their homes north of Gaza Strip, accusing Hamas of violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement. Palestinians spent the night on the streets in the hope that the Israeli army would allow them to go to Gaza in the morning. It is being told that Israeli tanks have blocked the coastal road from where people had to go north. Palestinian medical sources said that Israeli forces shot and killed a Palestinian youth and injured others when the displaced citizens were trying to return their homes in Madhya Gaza.

The dispute began when Hamas released four Israeli women soldiers on Saturday as part of the agreement, in return Israel released 200 Palestinian prisoners. After this exchange, Israel announced that it would not allow Gazivas to enter the North Gaza Strip until the system is arranged for the release of the citizen Arbel Yehud. Jehud was to be included in Saturday’s release list. It is still not clear why his name was left.

At the same time, Hamas claimed that Yahud is alive and will be released next Saturday. According to Israel, Hamas has violated the agreement by releasing women hostage soldiers before all living citizen women prisoners. According to media reports, the Palestinians were to be allowed to return to North Gaza under the agreement. At the beginning of the war, more than 1 million people were displaced.

Meanwhile, Al-Awada Hospital of Al-Nusrat refugee camp said in a statement that on Saturday, one person was killed and another was injured near the entry gate of Al-Buzza refugee camp. The hospital said that two other youths were injured in the ‘Tiba al-Naveri’ area west of the Al-Nusrat camp, targeting the crowd of citizens expecting to return to North Gaza.

The mediated Qatar and Egyptians are trying to allow hundreds of thousands of Palestinians to return to the north. Israel has sought evidence of life from Hamas from the mediators, and it seems that Hamas has given this evidence to the Egyptians. However, Israel says that unless a prisoner named Arabel Yehud, who has been identified as an Israeli citizen, is not released, Israeli soldiers would not withdraw from Netzarim and only then Palestinians will be able to return to North Gaza.

Let us know that since the implementation of the ceasefire on January 19, the prisoners have been swapped twice. Three women Israeli hostages and 90 Palestinian prisoners were released in the first exchange. Under the terms of the agreement, Israel has agreed to release 50 Palestinian prisoners in lieu of each Israeli soldier closed in Gaza during the first phase of the ceasefire and to release 30 prisoners in exchange for any other female prisoner.
