State President of Himachal Pradesh Minority Welfare Council SNA Geelani held Muslims from other states responsible for the unrest in the state. He said that Muslim people coming from different states are spoiling the social fabric of Himachal Pradesh by building mosques and cemeteries. He expressed concern over the safety of Hindu women in the state.
Geelani, who was the state president of BJP Minority Morcha in Himachal Pradesh and a member of BJP Nationalist Committee, claimed that these Muslims took thousands of Hindu women with them to other states. He described Dharampur Jamia Masjid located in Solan district of Himachal Pradesh as the headquarters of all anti-Hindu activities taking place in the state.
Geelani said, “There are many Army stations around Dharampur, including Army Station Headquarters Kasauli, Army Station Dhiksai, Spatu and Solan. CRPF also has a center in Dharampur. All of them are in danger from Dharampur Jamia Masjid.” He questioned the need to build such a large number of mosques in a state where the Muslim population is negligible.
Geelani claimed, “Every Friday, hundreds of people (Muslims) come to Dharampur Masjid from outside. None of them live in Dharampur. There is not a single permanent resident (Muslim) in Dharampur. “Hardly 3-4 families (Muslims) live in rented houses in Dharampur.” He said that on any Friday Dharampur Mosque A large number of Muslims can be seen coming and going.
SNA Geelani said that if the Himachal Pradesh government wants to save military centers in the state and ensure the safety of Hindu women then it should close the Dharampur Jamia Masjid. He also urged the state government to investigate whether necessary permission was taken to construct the Dharampur mosque.
Geelani said that if the investigation found that no permission was taken for the construction of the mosque then it should be demolished just like the illegal mosque in Sanjauli was demolished. In October last year, a Himachal Pradesh court had ordered the demolition of unauthorized parts of a mosque in Sanjauli.
Local Hindus had protested alleging illegal construction of the mosque. After that the court gave this order. Recently, local people of Himachal Pradesh have expressed concern over the construction of many illegal mosques in various cities of the state. People say that a large number of Muslims from outside the state keep coming to these illegal mosques.
The number of mosques and madrassas increased rapidly
Muslim population and external infiltration are not the only problems in Himachal Pradesh. Mosques and madrassas have also expanded rapidly in the state. Hindu Jagran Manch has said in a report that there were 393 mosques in the state before the Corona period. But after Corona their number increased to 520. It was told that maximum 130 mosques have been built in Sirmaur district. Apart from this, there are 87 mosques in Chamba and 52 in Una. The number of madrassas in the state is also 35.
