Union Health Minister J.P. Nadda said on Wednesday that so far 30 thousand crore rupees of the poor have been left through Jan Aushadhi Kendras. Apart from this, the poor have also got huge relief from Ayushman Yojana and other health sector programs. Responding to the discussion on the functioning of the Ministry of Health in the Rajya Sabha, J.P. Nadda said that 16 thousand crore rupees of poor patients have been left through the Prime Minister National Dialysis Program and Ayushman Jan Arogya Yojana.
Referring to the Prime Minister’s Jan Aushadhi Kendra, he said that there are 15 thousand Jan Aushadhi Kendras in the country. There will be 25 thousand more Jan Aushadhi Kendras within two years. Through them, 30 thousand crore rupees of poor patients are left. He informed that the Prime Minister National Dialysis Program is going on in 748 districts of the country. Under this, 1,575 centers have been opened, in which 26 lakh 49 thousand patients have benefited. Three crore 17 lakh dialysis sessions have been done here.
He informed that at the age of 30, everyone’s blood pressure and diabetes will be examined. So far, blood pressure of more than 100 crore people has been investigated. At the same time, diabetes of 88.5 crore people has been screened.
The Health Minister said that we are screening three types of cancer at NHM. Ayushman Arogya Temple, which has one lakh 76 thousand, is screening oral cancer, breast cancer and cervix cancer of each one at the age of 30. So far, 26.9 crore people have been screening oral cancer. Out of these, one lakh 63 thousand people have been found suffering from oral cancer, whose treatment has started.
The Health Minister said that a world class cancer institute has been built in Jhajjar, Haryana. It is one of the best cancer institutes in the world. 500 crore rupees have also been given for Chittaranjan Cancer Institute, Kolkata.
He informed that four crore 80 lakh people have been screened for sickle cell elimination program i.e. hereditary red blood cell disorder. For this, special types of cards have been issued to one crore 65 lakh people. The specialty of this card is that if these cards match each other, then both of them can marry among themselves, if they do not match, then they cannot get married. The benefit of this will be that the child born will not suffer from this disease.
The Health Minister said that 157 new medical colleges have been opened and the number of medical seats in the country has increased to 1.11 lakh. Apart from these, 75 thousand and new medical seats are being arranged. This year 40 thousand seats have been increased, 75 new super specialty blocks have been opened.
