Kashmir Fashion Show Controversy: Designer Shivan and Naresh regretted Gulmarg fashion show

Designers Shivan and Naresh, who are facing criticism to show “porn” apparel at a fashion show held in Gulmarg, Jammu and Kashmir, apologized that if someone has been hurt by his presentation in the month of Ramadan, he regrets it.

Delhi’s designers Shivan Bhatia and Naresh Kukreja displayed their ‘skivier’ (apparel worn during skiing) on March 7 on the occasion of the 15th anniversary of their brand.

Kashmir chief Maulvi Mirwaiz Umar Farooq described the fashion show as “derogatory” in a social media post on Sunday. Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also took cognizance of Farooq’s post and said that he has ordered an inquiry into the matter. Protests were also organized in the Jammu and Kashmir Assembly on Monday regarding this matter.

After criticism, Shivan and Naresh apologized on the social media platform ‘X’. He said in the statement, “If we have any kind of hurt by our recent presentation in Gulmarg in the Pak month of Ramzam, then we are sorry. Our sole purpose was to demonstrate creativity and skiing costumes without humiliating someone or hurting someone’s religious sentiments. ”

It said, “We respect all the cultures and traditions from the heart and accept the expressions expressed.” We apologize honestly for any unexpected inconvenience and appreciate the response received from our community. ”

Mirwaiz Omar Farooq posted on ‘X’ and said, “Inscurcating! A porn fashion show was organized in Gulmarg in the Pak month of Ramadan. Its pictures and videos have gone viral, causing anger among people.

He said, “How can it be tolerated in the valley that is known for its Sufi, the culture of saints and the deep religious perspective of the people?” Those who were involved in this, their accountability should be fixed immediately. Such obscenity will not be tolerated in the name of promoting tourism. ”

Reacting to the post, the Chief Minister said, “The anger of the people is fully understood. The pictures I have seen shows completely neglect towards local sensitivity and that too during this Pak month. ”

He said, “My office is in touch with local authorities and I have asked to submit the report within the next 24 hours. Further action will be taken on the basis of this report. ”

The Chief Minister said that he wants to clarify that the government has no role in organizing this program. Social activist Raza Muzaffar Bhat described the event as an attempt to collapse the moral, religious and moral values of Kashmir.

He questioned the post on ‘X’ and said, “Who allowed this naked fashion show in Gulmarg during Ramadan? Will the CEO of Tourism Department, GDA throw some light on it? Why are you bent on destroying our moral, cultural and religious values? ”

Another social media user asked why ‘Nude Fashion Show’ was organized in Gulmarg during Ramadan
